UliWer Posted November 19, 2012 Share #21 Â Posted November 19, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had an answer from Solms , they will not code my new 135 Â If you don't bother to contact Customer Care in Solms again, you may refer to the statement Leica made on the meeting with the Forum during last Photokina. Here is the admin's summary: Â http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-aktuell/2012/10/leica-protokoll-photokina-fragestunde-daniel-schopf/ Â One question was, whether Leica would introduce a six-bit code for the Apo-Telyt and the answer was they would introduce this "now" (I understood the "now" as "with introduction of the M 240"). Â Though I am not sure, if the camera (M9) already recognizes a 6-bit-code for the lens. Perhaps we'll have to wait for a further firmware-update - though I am not sure about that. Bill Allsopp Posted December 20, 2012 Share #28 Â Posted December 20, 2012 I always forget to change it for manual in the M9 therefore I prefer to code it Same reason I coded my 21mm Zeiss, actually I usually remembered to tell the camera when I put it on but almost never when I took it off! Â Let me know how you get on with this lens please Erick, it appeals to me too.
01af Posted December 20, 2012 Share #29 Â Posted December 20, 2012 Does the M8 recognize the code? If it doesn't then another firmware update is all that would be needed to remedy this. But then, the M8 has no 135 mm framelines so maybe it isn't supposed to recognise a 135 mm lens in the first place ... umm, with the possible exception of the goggled Elmarit-M 135 mm which uses the 90 mm framelines. cirke Posted December 21, 2012 Author Share #34  Posted December 21, 2012 I've got the answer from Solms  They will do it , but they cannot say yet the conditions -->   Monsieur, Merci de votre courriel. Cordialement  Gabriele Arnold

algrove Posted December 22, 2012 Share #39 Â Posted December 22, 2012 I use mine on the M9 and love those images. For me the Walter eyepiece helped since I am a one eyed shooter not by choice, i,e, my right eye.
jaapv Posted December 22, 2012 Share #40  Posted December 22, 2012 at full aperture it is very difficult to be in focus I use it with the Nex 6 only Not in my experience. I can easily get over 90% of my shots in focus wide open, especially if I use it without magnifier. Before you mention it, flying birds too.I had to go back a while for an M8 shot, so I am cheating a bit here, this is the Tele Elmar 135/4.0 wide open. I put it on the forum before.
