I'm going back to 1.09

Last night I experienced a couple of minor lock ups, slow write times and (it seems) diminished raw buffer space. I never had these issues with the earlier firmware. I'm going to go back to 1.09 for a while, and wait for 1.1...

Also, I had a lot of the "centerfold" lines and some annoying banding. I have been putting off the "update", but perhaps now is the time to bite the bullet, buy a brick of tri-x, and call N.J. to make the necessary arrangements:(

Has anyone else been experiencing increased write times, and/or any lockups that you feel are related to the firmware change?

I've been using 1.92 since the morning it came out and have not had any real problems.

The only glitch I've had is when reviewing a image and turning the wheel to Zoom in. First turn/click of the wheel takes me to the 9 thumbnail image display and then I have to wheel through that to zoom. I also had that with 1.91. Which I only had on the camera for about 1 hour.

Yes, I experienced that too, now that you mention it.

Geez now I'm scared to go back... I wonder what could happen?

When 1.091 was "released" Leica themselves advised reverting to 1.09. So I doubt any harm will be done. I noticed, when doing that myself, that 1.09 needed to be installed twice to wipe all traces of 1.091 and to reset the version number on the display to the correct 1.09 instead of 1.009.

My only issue since upgrading has been two times with the preview photo, it has come up as horizontal zebra stripes on the entire screen. When I hit the play button after the preview goes off, the image is there but the "zebra" preview has worried me. Is there something else going on? I did not have these with the original 1.09. Can only wait and see!!!!

I have also had a few issues with the latest FW. 2 lockups just today, and it appears my color is not as good outdoors. Not sure what is up. I also had a stripe down the middle of one image. I never had one problem with the previous FW.

Where can I download the previous version??

I had it saved on my hard drive just for this reason, let me know if you need it.

For now, I am keeping 1.09 in my M8....:D

Well, I haven't installed the ugrade yet. Wilt all the different opinions stated here, makes we wonder just what to do. My M8 was delivered in Feb. and has the 1.09 version of firmware. What to do? I know I can only answer that for myself. Jim
