If you income increased by 47% (or declined by 32%) next year - you wouldn't notice? Â And you can't take a picture with just a camera body - you have to have a lens as well. Â My M9 with any of my lenses attached weighs less than a D800 with NO lens at all. Â My main shooting set of M lenses - combined - weigh less than a D800. And the frenzy of buttons - but let's not go there |.I guess the Nikon feels less "dense" because it is larger.  handling is one thing using "in the field is another"  walking all day with a D800E and 35mm f1.4 lens has its ups and downs  walking all day with a M9 and 50mm f1.4 or 35mm f1.4 is a Joy  the Leica combination is smaller and the nikon kit is 76% heavier (if you look at it from a M9 perspective) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Lugging the 5D just isn't worth it. Â My 5D2, which really is a formidable photographic tool, spends most of its days at home to be used for macro and studio work. I've been wondering if I'll ever sell it but I consider it - and most of my photo equipment - as sunk costs. Â I'm currently exclusively M film and, speaking of weight, have found that I don't even feel my TTL and the 35 FLE or 50 Asph when on my shoulder. adan Posted September 16, 2012 Share #29  Posted September 16, 2012 D800 - 900g  I will note, however, that Nikon just raised (or lowered) the bar with the D600, which has slimmed down the weight of a FF DSLR to 750g (battery included).  I'm waiting to see what Leica announces Monday, but I have a feeling between the D600 and a possible EVF-M + adapter as an "R-solution," something may be about to retire my 5D2 even for longer lenses and video. No regrets here, the Nikon is a great camera and with a (very) careful selection of lenses goes extremely well with the Leica.
