heckel Posted September 11, 2012 Share #11 Â Posted September 11, 2012 Terrific. Great tones and super composition. Â Had the couple on the left not been there it could easily be a work of conceptual art. Â This should be in a gallery
alun Posted September 12, 2012 Share #12 Â Posted September 12, 2012 Dare I say, Frank - nice....but not quite....? I think the left hand side of the frame doesn't really work. It needs just a touch more interaction - more face, less back, to put it crudely....

Out of curiosity I looked at parts of your albums and noticed how you favor backs of people. Go figure! Â ~f
alun Posted September 18, 2012 Share #14  Posted September 18, 2012 Looking again at my own pictures, Frank, I can see there's truth in what you say - I do sometimes use people's backs as a way of framing the way into a picture or to highlight a face where I want the attention to be - backs can be 'architectural', adding shape and rhythm but not distraction....  cheers a  Alun, That is the key to the photo for me. roguewave Posted September 18, 2012 Share #15 Â Posted September 18, 2012 Frank, this is one of your very best. Beyond the beautiful composition and expert processing, there's a wonderful world populated with contradictions and surprise, a difficult recipe. The problem is that you loose all credibility when you kick off your blog with a very average street image of yours and pronounce the creation as containing "..... A good sky, beautiful buildings offering a fine background, lovely action in the foreground." Sorry but it is difficult for me to take your criticism seriously when you use such an image as a shining example of.....?  ~f

alun Posted September 19, 2012 Share #18  Posted September 19, 2012 A little less sensitive, Frank? I wasn't getting at you or your pictures - I was just suggesting that compared with many of your pictures - which have really stopped me in my tracks and which I have enjoyed - this particular one wasn't of that same calibre.  If you think my comments can't or shouldn't be taken seriously, that's fine. I frankly couldn't care less but know not to bother in the future.  Alun, Thank you for making that all too clear.
