available to general UK public in quantity by 1964 this one was export (LHD).

quick go over with T-Cut and she'll be off.

loved the mosses/lichen/fungus - whatever did Ford put in the paint that they like it?

good scan (the last one) faithful I think.

If the cockpit shot had more DOF it would have been very good, as is, nice record and nostalgic anyway. Thanks for shewing us this treasure.

edit; ps the brake/running tail light plastics are still red - VERY rare for a Ford this age they normally washed out (with U/V?) after only five years or so.

Drove with my Dad and Mum from Birmingham to Sheffield in one in 1966 - the day of the World Cup Final.....

I well remember sitting in our drive, playing with the controls, particularly the sliding heat / ventilation controls which reminded me of an aircraft or Fireball XL5....

I'd forgotten how deep the dish of the steering wheel was, until I saw it again now.

By all means, these shots make me appreciate the modern cars I own. Probably the best thing you can say about these old cars is that they, well, did drive ...

My late father, even when owning a 5series BMW, always glorified his first car, a VW Beetle, stating that it was the best car he had owned. I always replied he should drive one again now, just to be sure :).
