I worked with a Hungarian for a while, he had a wonderfully imaginative repertoire of insult. I can remember some translations but not the originals. Most are not for repro in print, but 'He's so full of s...t his eyeballs are brown' is relatively repeatable.

Che amarezza caro Giuseppe... servi il pranzo su un piatto di argento e ti viene immediatamente richiesto di solo oro !! Io, pur di carpire delle novità sulla mia passione Leica, mi cimenterei anche a tradurre la lingua più complicata che posssa esistere.

Ma si sa che la riconoscenza non appartiene all'indole umana.

I know, your words are gentle and kind.

In fact we pay no overall usability of the language.

However, once speaking with a German gentleman, Herr Claude Allonas of Leica Camera GmbH, spoke English so we can understand. Well, I was surprised when he answered me in Italian. His response encouraged me to speak in Italian, because he said the Italian is a musical language that combines an ancient history that it could not be scorned by a translation. I thanked him and talked slowly to allow him to understand the whole meaning of the discussion.

I hope to see you, maybe at the annual Castel S.Giovanni, where, unfortunately, I have always been absent, for personal reasons.
