stuny Posted August 1, 2012 Share #1 Posted August 1, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) ...when I sent her this photo, shot through the window around 6:15 Friday morning. The 458 Spyder has a folding hardtop, similar to the one on the California Spyder. Of course the 458 Berlinetta has a glassed-over engine bay which one gives up with the Spyder. Rona!d Posted August 1, 2012 Share #3 Posted August 1, 2012 Stuart, how many Ferraris did she get over the years? Cars, cars, cars. Isn´t she bored? What about smaller gifts around her neck? They don´t need expensive garages and service
k-hawinkler Posted August 1, 2012 Share #4 Posted August 1, 2012 Stuart, Excellent tast!
stuny Posted August 2, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted August 2, 2012 Paul & K-H - Thank you. Rona|d - Thank you. Actually, the only Ferrari I ever gave to Barbara was a high quality 1/43rd scale red 360 Modena. Jewelry is my most common gift choice for her. stuny Posted August 3, 2012 Author Share #8 Posted August 3, 2012 Michael - Just to be safe you might want to change this Forum's name in your favorites folder to something like, "drunks barfing dot com"
gnuyork Posted October 4, 2012 Share #9 Posted October 4, 2012 Gosh that's a beautiful car. A true work of art. I wish the newer ferraris would keep with manual shifting and a clutch instead of the paddle shifting auto trans. You know the classic ball shifter. earleygallery Posted October 4, 2012 Share #10 Posted October 4, 2012 Not a comment on the photo Stuart, but I think that is one ugly Ferrari! The front is a mess and look how heavy the exposed trim at the rear of the seats makes it look.
stuny Posted October 5, 2012 Author Share #11 Posted October 5, 2012 Gnu - Thank you. One can still order manual transmissions but the market has spoken and a bit over 80% are delivered with the F1 dual clutch transmission. James - Thank you. The new FF makes this one seem perfect. businessasusual Posted October 5, 2012 Share #12 Posted October 5, 2012 That is awesome! I am sure she really deserves it. Happy birthday, Barbara! Very kewl, I have been hit with that warm fuzzy feeling one gets when there is a Leica parcel in the mail. Made my day!
stuny Posted October 5, 2012 Author Share #13 Posted October 5, 2012 K2 - She'd really prefer one in this color, but except for a die cast scale model it's unlikely to happen.
Guest Benqui Posted October 5, 2012 Share #14 Posted October 5, 2012 Stuart, Ronald mentioned it already: this Ferrari needs a garage, service and gas. Please talk to Barbara: the corresponding countervalue to the Ferrari are 32 Leica M Monochrom. This would be a perfect birthday present for your wife and for you:D best regards Marc
stuny Posted October 6, 2012 Author Share #15 Posted October 6, 2012 Marc - Thank you -- I've often found rationalization useful when considering the purchase of desired objects. In this case you reminded me not of what this poor, unloved, lonely auto needs, but what all those needs will add to the cost of ownership.. I still want one. dickgrafixstop Posted November 25, 2012 Share #16 Posted November 25, 2012 Barbara deserves the best, but Ferarri's are passe. Give her a new Tesla - and spend the difference on lenses.
