tobey bilek Posted August 1, 2012 Share #21 Â Posted August 1, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would suggest you do not remove the shade ever if you find one. People have broken them all. Mine has not been removed for 25 years. I have a cloth cover for the end.
Advertisement Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Hi tobey bilek, Take a look here 28mm Elmarit ver3 lenshood 12536 question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted August 1, 2012 Share #22 Â Posted August 1, 2012 I haven't broken it . But I did replace it in the end by the Heavystar WA hood. What an improvement...
colorflow Posted August 1, 2012 Share #23 Â Posted August 1, 2012 The spring mechanism feel very flimsy. I leave mine on all the time. Since Leica never had a cover for the hood, I use a cheap 49mm center-pinch lens cap flattened a little on top for clearance. Works great.
jpattison Posted August 2, 2012 Author Share #24 Â Posted August 2, 2012 My 11804 now has a 12509 hood, meant for the 28-R f2.8, and it fits perfectly, although you cannot fit a filter, as it sits slightly closer to the lens than on the R lens. Â http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/12509 Â I've checked, and this doesn't create vignetting (checked from f2.8 to f8) Â Sherry hasn't replied to my email to buy the one suggested earlier. Â Thanks all, as usual! Â John

jpattison Posted August 3, 2012 Author Share #26 Â Posted August 3, 2012 Yes, that looks like it. Â I thought it might fit, measured the internal diameter as approx. 3mm more than the 49mm I knew my M lens took, and it fitted perfectly!
