Only Leica*!! Hand carved from unicorn bone by vestal virgins etc etc....

*oh, and Hermes, of course.

The shutter button of the hermes M10 will be made of one of Jesus baby molar teeth, and numbers will strictly be limited to 100

Well I'm so happy with my Chrome M9P I really don't need a M10 and looking for a used Chrome M7 instead. But here we go:

1) 24MP CCD ( no Live view and video but perfect colors)

2) Highres screen

3) Better und much more processing power

4) ISO 100-6400

5) Same M9P Body

And if the current trend continues, the M10 may not even have a red (or black) dot.

I knew it! You've already seen it. I'd be happy to proof-read the English version you are writing for LFI. :)

As a long term Canon user, I have always eagerly awaited camera upgrades as I felt there was so much room for technology developments. Sometimes, as was the case with the 1DS-1DSII and arguably 1DSIII, the improvements were incremental at best. In hindsight, I wish I had not blown the bucks.

With the Leica however, that is entirely unlikely, I expect that the next M will be an incredible camera. Whatever its features, no doubt it will be worthy of the Leica reputation that precedes it.

- Silent mode á la Canon 5D3

If you're going to get all pretentious and use a language you don't speak, you should at least spell it correctly...

à la Canon 5D3

To quote Miss Piggy...

Pretentious? Moi?

1-higher ISO excursion (10.000 at least, 25.000 desirable)

2-higher ISO excursion

3-higher ISO excursion

4-decent LCD display (the crappiest 100$ compact camera has a better display today)

5-no fancy BS (whatever it may be)

I heard the M10 will be so exclusive, not only will it lose the dot altogether but they will not allow us to call it a Leica. The Leica name will be reserved for the pricey M10 Kupier Belt edition made from asteroid alloy.

Better ISO performance means CMOS.

Higher writing speed means additional processing heat.

That will drain much more power. Liveview an'all.

All those wishes might end up in a M5-style chunk.

Personally, I eagerly anticipate the announcement of the M11. That alone will make the M9P affordable.

My tuppence :-)

what I want but won't get:

1) Price reduction

2) Better sensor: ultrasonic cleaning, liveview, better high ISO. Better B&W than the m9m... ;-)

3) Slightly Thinner Camera More like an M6. Rubber (screw) plugged flash synch and cable release sockets on the side of the camera. Water proof shutter release on the top. Much Less Fragile. removable LCD hard cover. I would likely forgo brass and chrome in favour of real durability. I wan't to see a camera that is made like a gun: functional, minimal and rugged. If that means new materials: even plastics: kevlar- whatever- so be it. I want a camera that can fall down the stairs over a camera that is crafted like a bespoke (but fragile) watch. Rolex's need to be serviced all to regularly. Cameras should soldier on- in the field- and away from camera techs... If you are going to have the baseplate: at least put a rubber seal in it... Impact and scratch Protection for the RF windows is a must: they should have a frame as on the M3- only a fraction deeper. Yep- weather seal it- and include a redesigned DR 50 APO summicron with sealing... with every camera! No cost!

4) Redesigned and Improved Mechanical Rangefinder: Larger, brighter, better. The Best RF Ever: with the capacity via live view to individually calibrate focus for each lens (adjusting RF via electronic servos or whatever;)). No more trips to camera techs for RF calibration. More rugged: cannot be knocked out with a small bump... Illumination via LED as well as the traditional way- user selectable... and (optico-mechanical) Zooming framelines of course... A little more info in that BIG new finder too: shutter speeds if you want them... etc. Built in diopter too dammit.

5) Better everything else: battery, write speeds, dual memory slots, best in class LCD, Video, intervalometer (of course), etc.

and so on.

If they actually do #'s 2 to 5- I am possibly prepared to concede # 1...

1. Less digital noise

2. Less motor noise

3. Less color shift

4. More speed

5. Electronic Visoflex

I think the more electronic things you add the more noise you get.

Heat.
