gwelland Posted March 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted March 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I shot this in a hail storm the other evening in Seattle. A bit of a cliche'd shot but I thought the M8 did a fine job with the exposure and dynamic range. M8 CV 90/3.

stuny Posted March 9, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 9, 2007 Graham - Excellent composition, light and details. I'll bet the Chamber of Commerce would be interested in it.

gwelland Posted March 10, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted March 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thankyou everyone for your kind feedback. I took this shot as part of a set of scenics using my Zeiss 21, 28, 50 and CV 90 just to see how well they could resolve the scene - albeit standing with cold hail pellets falling from the sky. All were taken pretty much wide open but were obviously from a tripod with timed shutter release. The original full resolution shots render the people and furniture in some of the windows you can see, including the restaurant at the top of the Space Needle. The 21/28 landscapes rendered perhaps even clearer than the 90 but the images really don't have any impact at this scale (960 pixels) compared to a big print. I've been tempted to invest in a pair of summicrons (21 or 28, 90) but I'm not sure how much sharper they would be in real use. Thanks again everyone.
