leicamann Posted June 24, 2012 Share #1 Posted June 24, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Folks my threads and posts have been customarily deleted, this is the 3 such incedent . I have done nothing offensive or broken forum rules, so I personally would like to know why and like to know if others are experiencing the same thing. Cheers, JRM

bill Posted June 24, 2012 Share #2 Posted June 24, 2012 I suspect you mean "summarily" ... however, are you sure they have been deleted and not moved to somewhere more appropriate? I can spot a number started recently by you in "Nature and Wildlife" for example? Regards, Bill

jaapv Posted June 24, 2012 Share #9 Posted June 24, 2012 I did see it this morning and quite liked it. The file was on the large side, but that can hardly explain a complete disappearance. I cannot see it as deleted either. I'll alert Andreas.
LUF Admin Posted June 24, 2012 Share #10 Posted June 24, 2012 Hi, Right now I don't have an idea what this can be - sorry for any inconvenience... I'll dig deeper, hopefully I'll find out what it is. Andreas

Andreas They were trying to delete the post so I could "repost"..it turns out that the loading issues are because of Firefox..which is too bad Thanks again Cheers, JRM
jaapv Posted June 25, 2012 Share #13 Posted June 25, 2012 Root cause was probably that the image file was on the large side. Try and keep it around 300 kB
Guest Ming Rider Posted June 29, 2012 Share #14 Posted June 29, 2012 I think I remember it. Wasn't it a pic' of a bird on water splashing about?
SJP Posted June 29, 2012 Share #15 Posted June 29, 2012 Ming Sort of - it was indeed an explosion of water, a great image IMHO. And for all of you it is still there if you would care to look. See here.http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/nature-wildlife/244065-explosion-take-2-a.html#post2108679 . A bird 'splashing about' is somewhat insulting from my point of view. I am not happy with this sort of put down, and very certainly not in this case.

I was just recalling what I remember from my sometimes hazy memory. Bird, splash, water. At least I remembered it. Besides, do you really think I'd ridicule someone elses picture ?
SJP Posted June 30, 2012 Share #17 Posted June 30, 2012 Ming sorry, no. The point I think is that is an excellent & unusual photo. That was missing in your description. Anyway, again no, I do not expect you to ridicule anyone's pictures (mine are fair game).
Guest Ming Rider Posted June 30, 2012 Share #18 Posted June 30, 2012 Agreed. Had I had access to the photo at that time (missing link), my description would have been more accurate. As it was, I recalled a bird, some splashing and water. It could easily have been remembered as a combination of 6 different pictures I'd viewed recently. My, what a thought. Yes very good pic by the way.
brianv Posted June 30, 2012 Share #19 Posted June 30, 2012 The title of the thread 'explosion' sounds like fun was it KNO3 or NH4NO3 based? Or something more advanced?? Ming Sort of - it was indeed an explosion of water, a great image IMHO. And for all of you it is still there if you would care to look. See here.http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/nature-wildlife/244065-explosion-take-2-a.html#post2108679 . A bird 'splashing about' is somewhat insulting from my point of view. I am not happy with this sort of put down, and very certainly not in this case. How can a "Bird splashing about" be interpreted as derogatory but " 'explosion' sounds like fun was it KNO3 or NH4NO3 based? Or something more advanced??" be acceptable? The bird is splashing about as far as I can determine. Makes for a great photo. I do not believe that the bird was setting off KNO3 or NH4NO3 to produce the shower of water. Is this the job of an unofficial unmoderator? Joke around when it suits them, and then determine whether or not anyone else has used a common phrase that you do not approve of? The bird is splashing around. That's how they take a bath. It's beautiful to watch. Birds and explosives do not mix.
