Digilux 3 for Leica R lenses only. Any thoughts?

I'm a happy owner of Digilux 2, and earlier I had Digilux 3 with a kit lens. I loved it for ergonomics, but I wanted it to be better in low light. The 14-50 was a bit slow, I wanted some better fixed lenses, but the only one available was 25/1.4, and it's the only one focal range available for the 4/3 with aperture ring, and it's quite expensive --> so I sold D3.

After some time I began to play with Leica R lenses (to be exact - Leica Summicron-R 50 F/2). I used it with the Sony nex-3, but there I come close to the problem - I don't like the controls of the nex. They disturb me form taking pictures. Computer based controls are not good when You want to enjoy taking pictures. Ech, miss the Leica...

So I have an idea to get the Digilux 3 body (or Panasonic L1) to use it with Leica R lenses only, mainly for portraits. Has anyone tried it? How about focusing with a viewfinder? Anyone has images to share of Leica Digilux 3 and R lenses?

I've recently acquired a Lumix DMC-L1 which I mostly use with a Macro Elmar-R 1:4/100 and a Elmarit-R 1:4/180 to explore both macro and telephoto which is difficult with my M9.

As Jaap states, you do get focus confirmation but I've still found it difficult to get accurate focusing consistently. Not sure if its my eyes or not, but the lack of a spit image spot etc. makes it more difficult. You can replace the focusing screen and I'm waiting for the delivery of a new one to arrive. Not normally a DIY job I understand but this comes with a special tool that makes it possible, I'll wait and see!

I'm not sure if the Mods will mind but I have posted some examples, sorry no portraits.

Thanks for the replies. Today I've got an offer almost new Panasonic DMC-L1 (mint condition) body, to trade to my Nex-3 body. Worth the trade? :)

And, do I need any special adapter to make focus confirmation work, or any Leica R to 4/3 adapter will be ok?

Only you will know if its worth it!

You get a green light in the viewfinder when in focus. I brought an adaptor off eBay which seems to work OK for me. You can go for a 'focus confirmation' version that also beeps when focus is achieved, but I've not tried one.
