Looking at the lack of a flash hot shoe on the M9-T and

, Hermes M9-H is there any validity in saying that in the conditions that a flash on a M camera would even work, do the new generation sensors such as is expected on the upcoming m10 even require a flash considering high ISO capability? At really low light you can't even really focus with rangefinder properly anyway?

A flash, imo is not primarily for low light. Flash in the dark only produces scared rabbit shots, unless one gets more sophisticated with soft boxes. reflectors, bounce etc.

My main use is contrast control through fill flash.

I can think of many reasons why there should be a hot shoe on a camera even if the high ISO capability is fantastic. It is a very narrow and one-dimensional view of photography if you think photographers wouldn't want to add light to a scene with a flash gun or with studio lighting. Let's not get carried away with the idea of high ISO, 6400 ISO still produces inferior image quality compared to 160 ISO on any camera.

Could you please stop pumping out meaningless and now also repetitive threads?

I apologize for the repeat that was a mistake due to small iPhone screen and iOS issues.

I don't think that others regard this as meaningless please consider that the hotshot has been eliminated by da silva and the new body on m9 special editions looks really great I just wonder if the flash can't be fired off wirelessly from an upcoming m10.

But thanks for being so rude I gives me some insight

Like many people, you are confusing the amount of light with quality of light.

I can sometimes shoot in the ambient at ISO 640 but if there's no high quality light, the images will be awful.

You use flash, or an auxiliary light, to increase the light quality (as well as its quantity). That way, even in a dark or candlelit room, you don't get "scared rabbit" shots of people, as Jaap says.

A new model M without a hotshoe is ridiculous; I want them to put back the PC synch flash connection as well :)

They are design exercises aimed at collectors, not people who need to use those cameras for everyday photography.

And I'm sure a flashgun could be fired wirelessly from an M10, you have one hand to hold the camera, one hand to focus and change the aperture, then with your other hand you can hold the flash, it all makes sense now.

i would NEVER buy this for the insane price, but come on, NO FLASH? NO HOT SHOE? I use my M8 with studio strobes at times. I am sure some of you do the same with the M9. This Hermes makes me laugh! Who would buy this thing? Why limit your M lenses to non studio use? The suckers that buy this camera can have it! Give me photographic tools!!!
