MarkP Posted February 2, 2012 Share #2  Posted February 2, 2012 There is an active thread (well up to a few days ago) in the M9 section: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m9-forum/220173-leica-90mm-f-4-macro-elmar.html  I've just bought one which is on its way.  Mark
tobey bilek Posted February 3, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted February 3, 2012 It works within a hair of the APO 90 at distance and is 100X better in the close range. Â Â Collapsed it the size of a 50 2.0, hood reverses. Â Allas, but only 4.0. That is the only downside to the lens. My only regret is I bought mine 5 years ago for $1200 without the close up eyes. Today it is a $4200 combination new.
HeinzX Posted February 3, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted February 3, 2012 Great lens, the macro adapter extends the possibilities in respect of table top photography and e.g. photography of bigger blossoms considerably. The lens is already open very sharp and can be used for portraits too, because in this case a f 4.0 or f 5.6 is often rather advisable than 2,8 or even higher to achieve the necessary dof to get eyes, nose and ears sharp at the same time. (of course this point depends on the distance to the face).
tom0511 Posted February 6, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted February 6, 2012 Great lens, but I must say that I prefer the bokeh of the 90 Elmarit and therefore use the Elmarit more often.
