Deserted Miner's Barracks

The location is CwmOrthin in North Wales.

Job is still early days Pete. A while before I find my feet, methinks.

Met my first prospect customer on Thursday and asked how he got in the situation to need this product.

He told me that he was driving on the back seat of an Astra GTE travelling at speed when the car went out of control, hit a concrete block and did 4 somersaults. The two front seat passengers flew out of the back window and struck my prospect on the way. His spine was snapped in two by the impact, but his fate was better than theirs. Could be a rewarding activity to provide guys such as this with the ability to move around with style and convenience.

Cwm Orthin and Snowdonia. Snowdonia and Cwm Orthin

Save Cwmorthin appeal

This is a very nice photograph. Indeed.

:)

I recognise this place... Photographs of Snowdonia & North Wales - Cwm Orthin - Algieri Images Photo Library ;)

Unfortunately, the Chief Constable around these parts deems it necessary to prevent people from driving over here, so this place is now out of bounds :)

Rolo, this is excellent, one of your best (though God knows they're all good).

Have you misspelled the location though? I've tried to find it and haven't been able too - I'd like to visit this area myself.

Steve,

I'd give you the map reference, but no digital cameras are allowed in the valley. Something to do with one man, with one digi, can collect all the images it takes another man a lifetime to capture on film. Having spent the last two nights developing 6 rolls of film, I now know why. TMax 100, Perceptol 1+1 for 16'15" x 6.

IMO. this image doesn't come in the Top Ten that I've posted, but I'm glad you like it. :)

No. 1 is still to come. :D

Boys and their toys...

Getting to Cwmorthin

From Blaenau Ffestiniog take the A496 towards Tanygrisiau. When a sign for the power-station appears on the right, turn right into the village. The road leads slightly up hill to a junction. At this junction, go straight-over left up a very steep road leading under the Ffestiniog Railway. Continue climbing, going straight over at a T junction to finally reach a car park high above the village at SH683454.

No problem Rolo, I was trying to find the place name on my GPS, but since it's a deserted location there's probably an explanation as to why I couldn't find it :-)

Evidently the M8 on-board GPS has not yet had all the bugs removed, unlike the V-Lux 1, which is accurate to within plus or minus 2mm. :D
