mmradman Posted December 28, 2011 Share #7  Posted December 28, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) in my local battery market  Simple logic, most likely cause it doesn't work they put in not compatible cells.

stuny Posted December 28, 2011 Share #9 Â Posted December 28, 2011 Also clean the contacts on the battery itself. An ink eraser on the end of a ball point pen (if you can find one) is ideal for this purpose. If not, on the end of a pencil.
topoxforddoc Posted December 28, 2011 Share #10 Â Posted December 28, 2011 1) Will the camera fire ok when the film back is back on the camera? If so, then it's not a shutter problem. 2) If the shutter fires ok with film, then you've probably got a battery problem. 3) Did the DMR work when you bought it with the current battery (in its original state)? If it did, then there's problem with the battery refurb (assuming the contact are all clean) 4) If it's the battery, then I hope the controller card inside is ok, as these are irreplaceable. You can try sending the battery to Michael Bass or the Leica approved refurbisher in Germany. Good luck

earleygallery Posted December 30, 2011 Share #12 Â Posted December 30, 2011 Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I thought that there was only one supplier of DMR batteries and they need the old ones as exchange items?
stuny Posted December 30, 2011 Share #13 Â Posted December 30, 2011 Two that I know of, and they both need the old battery to reuse the case, connector and the circuit card.
wildlightphoto Posted January 1, 2012 Share #14 Â Posted January 1, 2012 Contact Michael Bass. He can't replace the burned circuit but I believe he can convert the battery case to connect with an external power source.
AbbeyFoto Posted January 2, 2012 Share #15 Â Posted January 2, 2012 Contact Michael Bass. He can't replace the burned circuit but I believe he can convert the battery case to connect with an external power source. Â Michael has various solutions: (i) replace original cells, (ii) provide external power sources: one attaches to base of camera (but supply is limited), others use various power sources e.g. various groups of AAs. I have successfully tested two of his external sources as backup.
