Advertisement Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Hi Deliberate1, Take a look here Mismatched finishes - is it "done"?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted December 26, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted December 26, 2011 No - but the quality of the image is certainly unacceptable if taken with a mismatched combo...

3rdtrick Posted December 26, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted December 26, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree with Jaap and as I tweak my lens kit, I keep hoping to come across something chrome for my black M9.
lars_bergquist Posted December 26, 2011 Share #8  Posted December 26, 2011 Remember, during its whole production life the Leica I ('Leica A') had a nickel lens with a black paint body – except for the 24 documented specimens of the golden Leica Luxus. Can you get more legitimate than that?  The old man from the Age of Chrome SLR Cameras with Black Lenses ...
Deliberate1 Posted December 26, 2011 Author Share #9 Â Posted December 26, 2011 When black is TOO MUCH a bit of silver is relieving... Â Does that bazooka come in silver? I fancy a silver one - for my black M9.
gyoung Posted December 26, 2011 Share #10 Â Posted December 26, 2011 ....and black lens on chrome body is very early Japanese, sort of generation thing, my M3 came with chrome lenses, the M6ttl came with black, so they get mixed and matched. The Voigtlander 28 is sort of half way, rather like an old Canon lens, so looks equally at home on both. Got rid of that garish red dot though, did it black for 'stealth' ;-) Â Gerry

farnz Posted December 26, 2011 Share #13 Â Posted December 26, 2011 Luigi, if I have to go to the trouble of painting it, I am going "camo." A little too much information about your underwear, what colour would you paint the lens? Deliberate1 Posted December 26, 2011 Author Share #14  Posted December 26, 2011 A little too much information about your underwear, what colour would you paint the lens? Pete.  In my part of the world, Pete, the equivalent camera finish for going "camo" in the sartorial sense would be, well,no finish at all. That is, I quite agree, way too much information. David

peter_n Posted December 27, 2011 Share #19 Â Posted December 27, 2011 I used to get rapped on the knuckles by someone because I occasionally displayed a silver lens on a black body. I don't think he's here anymore, but I'm fairly sure he was serious.
christer Posted December 27, 2011 Share #20 Â Posted December 27, 2011 One needs two Ms if the model number is 7 or less. One needs three different focal length lenses, but not more than one lens for each focal length. One needs to change lenses on both cameras. So mismatches will occur from time to time.
