M9 and Enlarging lenses on Visoflex III

Hi folks,

I would like to use 105mm and 135mm Rodagon enlarging lenses (both have 39mm screw mount) for macro work on a Visoflex III with M9P (and M7) cameras. I have some 39mm extension tubes already. Is there a focus mount that I can use for these Rodagon lenses? I have a 16464K/OTFZO, but that seems to have too small and too recessed a thread to take the enlarging lenses. Do the ZOOAN or OUAGO have a 39mm front thread that would work?

SDK,

Try looking at some of the 3rd party bellows units from the same era. This thread discusses some of the Novoflex vintage options. Look particularly at page 2 of the tread.

Novoflex made a pistol grip bellows and a more common regular bellows unit. Both were made (early on) with 39mm LTM for the lens. I've used the pistol grip one (as show in that thread) to try an enlarger lens. In my case, the lens was a 50mm one so it was only useful for the closest of objects.

Try some searches of ebay or vintage camera stores for the older Novoflex bellow units. I think there may have been some offerings by other manufacturers like Kilfitt. Often, these are very inexpensive. Up until the late 1960s, the 39mm LTM was very standard on many mounts (even if the register distance was not standard)

Hello sdk,

Welcome to the Forun.

You can use a ZOOAN or the similar 14071. They have the 39/1 you need. The OUAGO/16467 has the same diameter & pitch as the 16464 & is therefore not compatable unless, as w/ the 16464, you use a 16472 adapter tube between the lens & the focussing mount.

A Leica Bellows needs adapter 16590 which fits both Bellows I & Bellows II.

Best Regards,

Michael

I have a BPM bellows unit, which has interchangeable front and rear mounts, ideal for such things, and its light and compact. I have back mounts for M, Nikon and Pentax, and front mounts for all sorts including 90 Elmarit as well as m39. They are long since out of business but can be found used, and SRB will do custom mounts, they did one for my 135 Elmarit lens head last winter.
