Robert and I had a longer than anticipated drive back because of traffic problems, roadworks and the Eurotunnel being oversubscribed meaning a 2.40 am Channel crossing by P&O ferry.

I enjoyed the Challenges and the weekend very much so thanks to Andy for organising and to Carl for selecting and booking the excellent Brewpub for dinner. It was very pleasant to see some 'old' faces and also some first timers who I hope enjoyed the experience.

Special thanks to Erik Gunst Lund for playing the perfect Copenhagen host by selecting excellent venues in which to eat and drink, but most of all for taking some of us to fascinating places that we otherwise would not have found. I think the best for me was the tiny local bar on the way to Christiania where we were made most welcome by the ebullient owner owing to Erik's presence. It's true that some of us arriving at Photografica were a little the worse for wear but I blame that on the Aquavit that has a harder kick than a dozen donkeys.:o

Pete.

Finally picked up my fixed computer, so I can log on and say thanks to Andy and Carl (and anybody else involved) for organizing such a wonderful weekend. It was great to see all of you, and special thanks to Jono, Emma and John to making the effort to come. We enjoyed Copenhagen, but found the challenge more difficult this year. Our return was a bit if a disaster, Nice airport was closed for bad weather, so we spent Sunday at Frankfurt airport - hoping for the weather to improve - then sleeping in Frankfurt - than still waiting some more the next day, coming home only after lunch. But I guess it is a part of traveling. Apart from that, everything was wonderful. So see you all in another year.

Copenhagen, October 2012.

during the challenge, didn't you find it quite difficult to get a good shot without some tourist with camera getting in the picture? :D

greetings to all

Currently I am 'stuck' in Monaco. I have had to reschedule my travel arrangements which will get me home very late in October. Hope I can make the Nov 1 deadline! Actually, I hope I have a decent image. Haven't been able to view mine yet. Frustrating.

Hmm... I can think of worse places to be stuck... but on the other hand I can also think of cheaper!

Travel woes are a nightmare at the best of times; hope you get home safe and soon.

Regards,

Bill

You betcha. For the first time in my life I have 'seen' the money!

Having got back to my desk in one piece and released Pete just in time to get to his meetings, could I just add my thanks to everyone who either by means of their organisation or their good company, made the Challenge so memorable this year.

In particular thanks to Andy and Carl for their organisation and to Erik for his time and enthusiasm in showing us round town. There was a real sense of both a welcome and a sense of civic pride about Copenhagen, which was hard to beat.

I think I may have missed some of the tourist cliches this year (and even forgot to get the customary fridge magnet) but came back with a sense that I'd seen some of the real Copenhagen.

Thanks again to everyone for a great time.

Phillip, Jana and I were in Cannes today but there was a bad accident on the tolloway and we were over an hour late for our destination. We were due to visit a fabulous village for lunch.
