I have been working through the Kulturnatten site and it is clear that the city is going to be busy that weekend.

Over the past few years, at various Challenges, we have enjoyed an evening meal en-masse as a group. Normally, we would wait until the end of Summer to organise a suitable venue etc, but circumstances this year are clearly going to be different.

I would welcome any input from native Copenhageners (? :) ) or others with knowledge of the city, who can suggest a sensible venue with a choice of good food and at a reasonable price. In Copenhagen :) In the past, we have tried to keep to around €30 per head for a couple of courses and wine. We have managed to get wine thrown in for that too, on a couple of occasions.

Recently, we have had around 25 - 30 attendees and, thinking about it further, if the city is very busy, we may have to restrict to a "First Come, First Served" basis for allocation of spaces at the table. There may not be the flexibility that we have enjoyed in the past.

I will do my own research from here, but local knowledge is key to success with these things.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

A quick "Hello" from Copenhagen...

You are right about Kulturnatten (12.Oct.2012). It is an venue where the city is packed with people, and by that I mean around 200.000 more than on the 23. december for the last desperate christmas shopping. On the other hand I would highly recommend that you take part in the event, unless you suffer from Sociofobia.

Kulturnatten is a wonderful event where you get to experience many sights and public institutions during night time. Special events have in the past included music in the National gallery of Denmark, visits to the prisons, open doors at the Danish Design Center and many many more...

I noticed you already choose the Brewpub for your evening dinner - a fine choice!

Should you have any more specific questions or in need for some arrangements you are welcome to ask, and I'll do my best to answer/help in a timely manner..

Greetings from CPH,

Dan

Just booked my flights, out with Norwegian air and returning on Easyjet - lowest price/best flight times combination, paid approx £80. I'll look at hotel options later in the week.

Hi James,

you might be interested in having a look at the floating boat hotel we have chosen:

Take care,
