otto.f Posted December 23, 2016 Share #1822 Posted December 23, 2016 Seems an Inka inspired villa at the pacific coast Or is it Maya?
adan Posted December 23, 2016 Share #1823 Posted December 23, 2016 Not Pacific coast. Mayan inspiration indirect but possible.

AZach Posted December 23, 2016 Share #1826 Posted December 23, 2016 The house number looks Portuguese (always blue with white numbers)?
war Posted December 23, 2016 Share #1827 Posted December 23, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Looks like an Art Nouveau addition on an otherwise unremarkable house. I'm going to guess either Brussels or Paris for a start.
adan Posted December 23, 2016 Share #1828 Posted December 23, 2016 war is half correct.
war Posted December 24, 2016 Share #1829 Posted December 24, 2016 You must mean Brussels or Paris is half correct. So I'll go with Paris.
larsv Posted December 24, 2016 Share #1830 Posted December 24, 2016 For some reason it reminds me of Malta
adan Posted December 24, 2016 Share #1831 Posted December 24, 2016 Paris is correct.
war Posted December 24, 2016 Share #1832 Posted December 24, 2016 So it's Art Nouveau and it's in Paris. From this view of it, I don't think this house is architecturally noteworthy so it must be "famous" for some other reason....that's a question. Are those Owls on the top of the entrance?
adan Posted December 24, 2016 Share #1833 Posted December 24, 2016 Owls - yes, as far as I can tell. Fame is in the eye of the beholder, but let us say that the original occupant's and the designer's names, and the address will all lead you to this house on the internet. It has "historical" placards (e.g. the octagonal thingy between the door and the tree.)
otto.f Posted December 25, 2016 Share #1834 Posted December 25, 2016 The man on the placard could look like Daguerre? If I'm not mistaken with the hairstyle of many men in that era. The text could as well be photographe as phonographe
war Posted December 26, 2016 Share #1835 Posted December 26, 2016 Can't read those plaques on my monitor except for the address No. 1. Those are owls though, and the architect is Louis L. Brachet known for his railway stations in France. Anyone have any ideas?
adan Posted December 26, 2016 Share #1836 Posted December 26, 2016 A very young Louis Brachet was indeed involved in the design. It was more of a renovation or a decoration than a building from scratch, so I don't know if "architect" is the right word....
larsv Posted December 27, 2016 Share #1837 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) And I think it has to do with lithography and Montmartre and Coucou Edited December 27, 2016 by larsv
adan Posted December 27, 2016 Share #1838 Posted December 27, 2016 Correct, correct, and very close.
larsv Posted December 27, 2016 Share #1839 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) And it is on La Place du Calvaire. And I leave it to war, as he concluded to art nouveau and Paris. Edited December 27, 2016 by larsv
