Another from Paris. I probably have enough photographs of the CRS to put a small book together, that may not be a wise move if they find out.

M6, 21mm Voiglander, probably Tri-X.

Pont des Arts just before dusk. I was heading back to my flat. One frame and I left them.

M6, Noctilux, Provia 100

Steve,

that is a fantastic shot. Very well done, both in terms of composition and technique.

Regards,

Andy

:D When was that? It doesn't look recent.

It was 2003, here's another from the same roll of film - same lens too...

And finally, one from 2002. The French screwed up, a protest vote went horribly wrong and that meant that Le Pen of the far right made it to the presidential election. His supporters organised a march in central Paris and as it started around the corner from where I lived I tagged along. This shot was taken on Rue de Rivoli about half way along the march. A sort of 'Priest for fascism' I suppose.

M6, 35mm ASPH Summicron, probably Tri-X

Time for someone else to post something, but here's one from 2003 after the US started to put pressure on Iraq. There was a march of Kurdish supporters of the PKK. From memory this was taken on Blvd Beaumarchais.

M6, 35mm ASPH Summicron, probably FP4.

Probably M7 (doesn't really matter does it?), I think Noctilux F1 (at F2.8?), probably Astia.

I have always loved this shot, ever nice you first shared it. Possibly my favourite wedding shot - much better than lots of pro stuff you see. IMHO.

How many of you develop the film yourself?

I rarely develop film - I use almost exclusively XP2 or occasionally 400CN, which I get developed (negs only) by my local Wal-Mart (works very well). If I were using a normal film, I certainly would develop them myself. Did so since way before the revolution :o.

I make silver prints in my traditional darkroom.

Well well, great many thanks to all the posters. Your shots are fantastic. Keep posting them here! :)

Black and White, always. Faster, cheaper, more control.

I was wondering if it wouldn't be better that I do it myself too. Is it difficult to develop b&w films that require the c41 method?

Anne, developing C41 B&W is a little more complicated, mainly due to the higher temperature required. I never bothered.

To be honest I prefer the look of traditional films, I find the C41 ones to lack character. They have a lack of grain, but I don't like the look. Personally I'd chose FP4 or Tri-X every time.

It's a real sign of the times (and the direction of this forum) that a thread has been set up for film M photography - as if there is something peculiar about Leica shots made using film. It doesn't seem very long ago that M photography was, by definition, always film photography.
