azzo Posted August 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted August 1, 2011 Cute. ... Lovely in B&W.
businessasusual Posted August 1, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted August 1, 2011 Thanks, Ivan - B&W was not my choice - she looked like she spent the night on a park bench - very bloodshot eyes. (could be fire we had going). Question - you might be able to help - note how nose is not in focus - I focused on eyes - why is nose area blurry. Seen much discussion on lenses needing adjusting - it could be me that needs it.

businessasusual Posted August 1, 2011 Author Share #7 Posted August 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) What a hair-do. Ha, ha - I'm frequently asked what type of dog she is. The funny thing is that she comes from Champion stock - her father is American/Mother Australian (both champions) and her sister is one as well. (Cocker Spaniel) Anji is just a jeans and sneakers kinda gal - none of that show manicuring for her. :D
likalar Posted August 1, 2011 Share #8 Posted August 1, 2011 Ha! After a day's work? Very funny portrait. About the focus, if I may: At this close distance, 2.4 still has fairly limited dof. When I follow the line of stitching on the leather cushion, the limited dof is easily seen, and I think your focus was where it should be (the eyes). If you want both eyes and nose to appear fairly sharp, you'll probably have to shoot at f:5.6 or more, and focus on a point halfway between the eyes and nose. Of course, this will also wipe out some of the beautiful "softness" that is so appealing here. Really nice shot! Larry
roguewave Posted August 1, 2011 Share #9 Posted August 1, 2011 I like this as is. My Aunt had one just like this gal. She was very sweet and very lazy.

Larry Larry, big thank you - your advice will help me with future shots and I will experiment with this. Doesn't help that she has a long face. :D Thanks, Azzo! businessasusual Posted August 2, 2011 Author Share #11 Posted August 2, 2011 I like this as is. My Aunt had one just like this gal. She was very sweet and very lazy. The most laid back and affectionate nature - pure LURVE!!!! I simply can never walk past her without planting a big smootch on her forehead. :D (She knows how to play the guilt card. My daughter jokes that I did not feel that guilty dropping her off at Kindy)

businessasusual Posted August 3, 2011 Author Share #13 Posted August 3, 2011 Hard to imagine my life without my canine partner. I like it as is too. Ditto, Virgil. It would be fair to say that my canine companions have sharpened my observational skills because of my communication with them. We talk to each other in a language we both get and all because I have to really watch them to hear what they are saying to me. Would never be without them - like the proverbial kid "it followed me home." LOL :D
