... and many more if you explore

the german section ....

Oh, where did you find them?

Usually in the german section of the forum, faults an problems of any Leica origin are commented at large.

I was surprised that the card problems seems to be limited on this section of the international section - but I must have slipped those many complaints in the german forum.

There is NO combination of button presses on the back (except for 'Delete' & 'Yes') that should result in the loss of images! Please explain how you can mark that up to user error?

IF the problem is indeed caused by the press of buttons. Can you prove you did not forget to switch off the camera before ejecting the card? Or that you ejected it from the computer in the correct way? Etc. And if you did it right, how about the next poster? I am not saying it must be user error, it might be. Or might be one step in the sequence. These are just possibilties I listed. None can be excluded.

If you are able to replicate the problem by pressing buttons please send the camera to Solms asap as nobody, especially Leica, has been able to do so You would do the Leica community a great service.

K-H,

You weren’t here to see my cheek bulging with my tongue when I wrote that!:D

Hi Rip,

You got that right. :)

Unlike some former governor who could see Russia from Alaska, I can't see deep inside Colorado from the mountains of New Mexico. :D

Next time I am in your neighborhood, we should have lunch at the Stanley Hotel.

Best, K-H.

Sure. Refer to an earlier post of mine. Just remove the card withnout turning off the M9.

The pictures are there but not available to the lcd review - if you are lucky you might be able to copy them to the computer - but never see them or use the LCD until reformatting.

Since when does pulling the card prematurely equate to a button push on the back of the camera?

I'm not suggesting that it is impossible for there to be pilot error, I'm saying that the camera should not be able to cause the loss of files through any combination of button pushes other than the 'Delete' sequence.

Well, in that case, my camera does not lose images through ANY combination of button pushes. I only managed to confuse it once through a silly series of pushes followed by an immediate switch off. And even then it saved full-sized JPGs. I went through all combinations mentioned in this thread and lost not a single image.

I find this a serious problem, so I really tried everything.

if try to pull the card before the picture has been written to it (pretty fast fingers to do that) or shut the camera before the writing is done you can possible corrupt the file and lost the photo. other than that, if there is a problem you have a bad card.
