madNbad Posted July 22, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently acquired a 111c from a friend of my wife. After a CLA and a trip to Cameraleather.com for recovering, it's a nice piece. It has always been paired with a collapsable 50 mm f 2.0 Summitar but I am considering a Voigtlander 21/4 Color-Skopar. I thought about a 12.5 mm or a 15 mm but the 21 is rangefinder coupled. Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

earleygallery Posted July 22, 2011 Share #3 Posted July 22, 2011 I use a 25/4 Snapshot Skopar on my lllf which isn't coupled to the rangefinder. It has 3 click stops at certain distance points so it's very easy to focus quickly and - with use of depth of field - acheive in focus shots. It's a great street shooting lens. The 12 and 15mm lenses really don't need to be RF coupled, but they are rather specialist - do you want such wide angle shots all the time? It depends as always on your own preferences but you will probably find the 21, or indeed the Snapshot 25 more useful for general shooting.
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted July 22, 2011 Share #4 Posted July 22, 2011 What JAMES said. For a start into w/a-photography a 21mm-lens will most likely be a challenge. Those wider lenses (i.e. 18, 15, 12 mm) deliver very special results and you need to compose VERY carefully to get keepers. Try a 21 (or 25) for a while and see if it works out. Whichever you get you can easily get rid of it in case it´s not made for you ... Best GEORG
250swb Posted July 22, 2011 Share #5 Posted July 22, 2011 It's great little lens to use with a Barnack Leica, here is an example from the lens mounted on a IIIf Steve
madNbad Posted July 29, 2011 Author Share #6 Posted July 29, 2011 Thanks for the suggestions and all of the great photos. In the past there was an M6 with a 21 Super- Angulon which passed through my young and foolish hands. The 21 Color-Skopar looks like a good choice for the 111c. Thanks again.
