Order Overdue with cameraleather.com

I've ordered mine about 50 days back. As usual, extremely helpful with selections and completely disappeared after paypal payment. I've done it through his personal email from a buddy who almost filed a claim against him after no receipt and Margan gave his personal email to my buddy.

Thought this will be faster but I was wrong!!! Whatever the reason, I think by ignoring clients' subsequent email for a ETA is extremely unprofessional!!!

I was not even asking why my leathers not delivered, I was just asking him expected delivery date and even after multiple email reminders, I was ignored.

Anyway, I think something has to be done with his business practice! I've proceeded to file a PayPal claims against him on the 43 days. I think this guy is getting away for too long.

I will rather keep my original M9 skins then to let him ruin my day. It's really frustrating to have to pay for something upfront and yet to be ignored completely!

I strongly urge all of you who has similar experiences to file PayPal claim against him. This business practice really has to stop!

I think a waiting time of max 1 mth is reasonable but to receive it after almost 1 year is incredible! We're not talking about a complete customization, but a cutting of skins from template that's already available. Even if the skins unavailable, he should have the courtesy to inform his clients rather than let us hang dry, while he takes his time to get more orders from others.

Frequently the price paid is in direct proportion to the quality of product or the service received.

Hmm.. not so likely now as it might have been before the rise of the hype merchants, plenty of examples of shoddy goods sold at high prices, especially in 'fashion' clothing and footware. Also plenty of examples of prices charged for good items which reflect 'what the market will bear' rather than cost of production/distribution, Panasonic p&s with red dots on come to mind

And practically any modern camera (or other electronic toy) is priced high to start with and price falls after the 'early adopters' have frittered away their hard earned cash, and also done the final development work.

It beats me why people still order stuff from this man when he clearly doesn't care about his customers, but sits on their money for months or years.

Is there no such thing as Trading Standards Office in the US?

Andy, I suspect that many people wouldn't know what the relevant supervising agency was in their country/state/area. There are so many possible names. Googling "Consumer Affairs" helps in Australia, but is there any chance of a thread giving the members opportunity to list relevant consumer agencies?

It seems to me some orders were quickly delivered, some deadly slow. Don't know what standard of customer service is in his mind.

I have just received all my 4 leathers after posting my case here and a few pushing emails. It isn't a nice experience but I have to admit that the goods are good.

Glad to hear the material has finally arrived.

Thanks indeed for your earlier advice.

This is a love and hate thing. The love part is the leather quality being really good, and his apologetic attitude after revisiting my delayed order. The hate part of course is the long overdue and continuiously pushing without response.

What Morgan explained to me the delay is caused from a confusion of my Chinese name, Cheng, that mixed with other similar ones from other Chinese orders, like Chen and Chan.

Perhaps next time I should seek for a Western friend to order. ;)

I'm mystified. I've just received (by return mail) my third covering kit, since this thread was started, this time for a canon 11b. fits nice, I'm impressed again. was thinking this one was odd ball enough to have to wait for.

Glad to know you received yours.

I hope we can keep this thread alive for those who are still long waiting and being ignored.

I've bought five kits from Morgan over the last few years, two so far in 2011 (the last one just a couple of weeks ago). Two kits shipped to DAG, three to me in Norway. For one kit there was a significant delay, but the other four were delivered within a week to DAG in Wisconsin or to my mail box here in Oslo.

I don't think it is fair to categorically state Morgan doesn't care about his customers. But I am sorry for those that don't have the same experience with him as I have.

address on envelope is 410 Appletree Point Rd, Burlington, VT 05401. Maybe you will be able to find out phone number...

Perhaps those who could not reach Morgan by emails can write a letter to him by registration post stating details of your order including the long overdue dates and PayPal transaction number.

I tend to believe Morgan does not have a neat system to manage orders especially he's so good that orders come in like flood. When an order is fresh, there is a higher chance that he fulfils it quickly. The more the order is delayed or pending because of material availability, the more he would forget it.
