Yul Brinner and his Photography

There's a story that Yul Brynner kept his M under/behind his throne during the 10 Commandments, (he was playing Rameses II) and take the odd shot during breaks in filming !

You have to have some perspective here.

Nowadays, all the actors hold an iPhone in their pants while acting and not only do they take instamatic snaps in-between scenes but they also film!

In 50 years from now, if the iPhone holds its mystique, people like you will say: Man, Robert DeNiro used to take pictures with his iPhone 3Gs during breaks in filming (he was playing the Godfather). That iPhone is really something!

Are you saying all actors had an M camera stashed on set in the 70s?

Anyone could have made those pictures.

If they could, they didn`t. Besides they are really fine portraits.

Perhaps you had to have seen the real people on screen to appreciate them. Most of todays movies do not hold a candle to what was produced then. Give credit to the supporting people also.

Sure. And anybody would have gotten these celebrities in from of their lenses for candids, showing some of them in a relaxed private environment. Anybody, even you (got your point):rolleyes:

Anyone could have made those pictures.

Anyone with the same access and trust of their co-stars

Just as anyone could have taken any photograph if they were in the right place, at the right time, with the right skills and equipment.

The whole point is, Yul Bryner did, which makes them interesting in themselves. IMO.
