Washington Posted June 11, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 11, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Now that I have it in hand I do not know which tube to shorten and rethread for the Viso. Behind the ring/bayonet mount that attaches the diaphragm unit seems like the most likely candidate…. but they are really tight and I will have to devise a clamp to unscrew them: if, indeed, these are the ones? ( It’s ‘’DUH’’ time again )
Advertisement Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Hi Washington, Take a look here Dear Abby: it’s that Pigriff-C again. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Michael Geschlecht Posted June 13, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 13, 2011 Hello Rip, Its better to work on the one that is easier to replace/make if something goes wrong. Life happens. Best Regards, Michael BTW: Is it possible to make an entire new shorter replacement for one of them & keep the original in tact?
Washington Posted June 13, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted June 13, 2011 Honestly, I don’t know which tube to shorten by 30mm as jappy told me to do…. and I’m still trying to figure out the mounting adapter for the M series adapter (VISBA). The VISBA I have for the earlier Rapid-Focus mounts differently. However, the ‘’new’’ one came with a bayonet mounted adapter for Nikon and the old Canon FD. So, I can still have some fun with my old Nikon F-2a. Boo-hoo, I found out my long unused F-3 no longer works. Oh well, I’m in no hurry and I’ll get it eventually. Where you screw off the front of the barrel (removing the complete lens head mount, it should not be that tight), you take off 30 mm and rethread the inside of the barrel. I would show you, but I sold the stuff some time ago.

Washington Posted June 16, 2011 Author Share #8 Posted June 16, 2011 jappv, Oh dear…. my poor memory is totally shot. They tell me this happens to old guys: but I am ridiculous. Robert_M Posted June 17, 2011 Share #9 Posted June 17, 2011 Well, you may have problems finding a Kabel-C. I had emailed HP Marketing (the USA Novoflex distributor) asking about the VISA and VISBA adapter availability and got the following response. I had not even asked about the cable. "The VISA is available and is $169.00 and delivery could be as short as two weeks if we have an order by the end of the weekend. Otherwise about 30 days. The VISBA is no longer in the factory price list. Neither is the Kabel C if you also need that." RM

Washington Posted June 18, 2011 Author Share #11 Posted June 18, 2011 As it turns out KABEL-C is the special cable-release for the Pigriff-C. No, problem because as it turns out I had already drilled and tapped the trigger release handle so that various cables can be used. A special spring retainer had to be made.
