i suppose my kodak brownie with the veripan 120 film, because it got me interested in photography from a very young single digit age. today when i look at those photos, square, b&w, unedited, unfaded, i can reach back and see family long gone and revive memories thought lost -- including the excitement of waiting for my dad to return with the developed prints.

from there, the next true love was my canon tl-ql, which i still have and from which i learned about photography.

today, it is my m9 -- and here's hoping my current love lasts.

Ha, what a funny survey. If it had to be one camera, it sure as heck would not be a digital, it would be a tie between my M3 and FM3A. But none of them are the love of my life, my wife is and my life as a photographer a close second.

M3 got my vote. was my first M, 2006. still remember when opening the box and marveling it in my hands. dont have it anymore, since came and went 2, 5, 7 and now 8. but will buy another 3 when possible, and dont sell it anymore.

M2 and FM2 for film, M8 for digital. I got the FM2 for my graduation (long time ago) and it still is one of the greatest SLRs - maybe the F3 is technically better (less mirror slap for instance) but having the (one but) last all mechanical SLR has its charm. The FM2 always felt like a very solid bit of engineering (can also be used as a hammer) but still the M2 feels considerably more solid.

This one fer sure…. whtta machine and versatility. At the time it blew Hasselblads

outta the water. Yes I had one to compare it too. Again, terrific design and negatives

so sharp the prints took your breath away!

My OM2 with its fabulous 50 f1.4, bought for me as an 18th birthday present by my patents. All the photographs of my growing children went through that.

Still on my camera shelf above my desk and working perfectly 32 years later, never CLA'd

My first M6, since sold & replaced with a later M6, B U T - my X1 is certainly making me excited, definitely a classic...

2 of my friends used Large Format, I could never get into them, image wise, yes LF are better but far less street friendly...in my opinion..Ima’ street guy...:)
