stuny Posted December 13, 2013 Share #2705 Posted December 13, 2013 (edited) If this were the world from above the location would be Brooklyn (though only custom models are made there now). My Gretsch was a two tone green anniversary model with double pick ups and Bibgsby tailpiece, over 50 years ago. Yours is probably the same vintage as mine (based on buttons, switches and head), and probably one of the Chet Atkins models Edited December 13, 2013 by stuny

stuny Posted December 15, 2013 Share #2707 Posted December 15, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) My Anniversary model was from sometime between 1958 and 1960, before the Chet Atkins models were made in double cutaway. I suspect this is from between '62 and '66.
stuny Posted December 17, 2013 Share #2708 Posted December 17, 2013 Well, your site is a slight tip-off: A Tennesean from '63.
esquire53 Posted December 17, 2013 Share #2709 Posted December 17, 2013 ... and the Chet Atkins is from 1964 I fell in love with the Tennessean when I saw the MTV "Plugged" Bruce Springsteen, where Shane Fontayne played the Tennessean into a Fender Bassman Tweed. A perfect combination, Bassman and Hi Lo Trons ... listen to Human Touch on U-Tube ... Over to you
stuny Posted December 17, 2013 Share #2710 Posted December 17, 2013 Thank you. The Tennessean and the Country Gentleman (very similar, though I think the latter was more expensive), at least in the earlier single cutaway models, both had an extra fret wire just below the nut. I think that helped those guitars to have such a light action. Of the 13 guitars I've owned I now only have #10 and #13. #13 was a generous gift from Barbara. Okay, lt's try this one. Where are the frozen slime trails? Well, where is this photo, and for extra points where was I when I shot it? Welcome, dear visitor! esquire53 Posted December 18, 2013 Share #2711 Posted December 18, 2013 Hi Stuart, I think I saw pictures of those snails before. Could it be in northern Italy? by the way, the Tennessean has the Hi Lo Trons, a single coil cheapo pick up; the CG used to have Filter Trons, the hum bucking equivalent to the Gibson PAF. stuny Posted December 18, 2013 Share #2712 Posted December 18, 2013 Uwe - Not Italy, though the same artist might have had some on display there. Thanks of the additional Gretsch info. That certainly explains the price difference between the two very similar guitars. You can see what my Gretsch looked like at this link: https://www.google.com/search?q=gretsch+anniversary+model&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=gZexUty-NaLMsQSajYLIDA&sqi=2&ved=0CFYQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=866#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=-F_RpyiflsmWrM%3A%3BuhhudnTdLtuPaM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.rockpalace.com%252Fgfx_productcode%252F98507%252F2%252FGretsch-G6118T-R-CST-Anniversary-Lacquer-TV-Jones.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.rockpalace.com%252Fproduct%252FGretsch-G6118T-R-CST-Anniversary-Lacquer-TV-Jones%3B333%3B500

Guest Posted December 19, 2013 Share #2718 Posted December 19, 2013 … New York? But I can't decide, if you photographed the red snails at Rumsey Field in Central Park, where they have been until about the first week of December or at Columbus Circle, where they will be stationated until January 6th, 2014. Street Art | "The snails were “living” at Rumsey Field in Central Park up until last week before moving (okay, they were more moved/transported than moving themselves) to Columbus Circle last week."
