Leicaquarters Posted May 17, 2011 Share #81 Posted May 17, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) In good Leica tradition there are always special lenses and cameras. And the book of Mr Puts is no exeption to the rule. What happened? Well, I received my copy last week, May 10th, started to read. And thanks to LFI (about lens production and the Summarit M line) I was curious to know what was in the Leica Compendium about the Summarit 35mm, page 428. Wow! No way! Pagenumbers went from 416 to 433. So I suppose the value of the book is even more with less pages! Again a collector's item is born.:D Peter

Leicaquarters Posted May 17, 2011 Share #83 Posted May 17, 2011 Although there are some pages missing, the book is very interesting and I'm Mr Puts very grateful for all the work he did. It is indeed as he says: the writing is only 10% of the job. About the missing pages: a solution is on its way. Peter
ericborgstrom Posted May 17, 2011 Share #84 Posted May 17, 2011 I have been told that the book will be delivered on Monday ... sometime between 09:00 and 16:00. So I will be expected to sit meekly at home for one full day, waiting. Now what if I had been unable to do so? No wonder that Danish mail delivery is a mess. Danish Mail is in cahoots with the Swedish Post Office nowadays, and the business plan is that the common citizenry are just mailboxes for dumping mass advertising in. The idea that citizens should be served is obsolete, and it's high time that we learn about our obsolescence. And DHL are of course tainted by their consorting with gangsters like these. Money don't smell. They stink. The old man Delivered in northern Stockholm without problem. No extra cost. But i guess it is more interesting to read/write about problems than smooth operations. farnz Posted May 18, 2011 Share #88 Posted May 18, 2011 Yahoo! Received mine today - and what an impressive body of work. Well done, Mr Puts! I noticed on another thread that some had also received a separate smaller book but mine came alone. Would anyone who received the other smaller book kindly describe it please? Pete. k-hawinkler Posted May 18, 2011 Share #94 Posted May 18, 2011 Howard, As I have not seen the booklet, I wonder whether it is different from the PDF file that one can download from Erwin's website? ianman Posted May 18, 2011 Share #96 Posted May 18, 2011 Howard, As I have not seen the booklet, I wonder whether it is different from the PDF file that one can download from Erwin's website? Could someone who has the booklet please check. Thanks, K-H. It's very similar but not exactly the same. For example in the printed version the serial number of Woody Allens M8 is present (it's not in the download version dated Feb 2010) The sections are in a different order but of course the content is not going to be very different from the online pdf) Ian

ho_co Posted May 18, 2011 Share #99 Posted May 18, 2011 Oops! My question was not what I wanted to ask. I intended to ask whether a section of consecutive pages was missing. I thought "signature" was the printing term for the section that's made out of a single sheet folded five times for printing (as in "bound-in signatures"). Here goes more accurately: Is anyone else's copy missing page 428, as Peter's is? ...And thanks to LFI (about lens production and the Summarit M line) I was curious to know what was in the Leica Compendium about the Summarit 35mm, page 428.
