farnz Posted January 30, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted January 30, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I came upon this elderly Bentley quietly snoozing in a side street in Belgravia in London. I tried not to disturb it while I took its picture and it didn't seem to mind what I was doing - being a Bentley it was probably used to a bit of fuss and attention from time to time, and it slumbered gently on. Â Thanks for looking and comments are welcomed. Â D2, 1/250th @ f5.7, ISO 100. Â

farnz Posted January 30, 2007 Author Share #3 Â Posted January 30, 2007 Thanks, Stuart; I'm experimenting with sepia toning and I felt that it suited this venerable chariot. Â Pete.

samwells Posted January 30, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted January 30, 2007 Really lovely composition, given an added edge by the reflections of the mansion blocks...nice rich toning too. Thanx for showing. cheers: Sam
elansprint72 Posted January 30, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted January 30, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Farnz, That's the best "B" photo I've seen for a while (and I've seen a few!). Great reflections. Â Â Pete.

abrewer Posted February 1, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted February 1, 2007 Nice shot Pete. Â Love the reflections. Â Let us see more of your work please! Â Thanks. Â Allan
Rolo Posted February 1, 2007 Share #11 Â Posted February 1, 2007 Pete, Â I try that shot every other week and have never pulled it off as well as you have with this image. Â Looking again, have you got a higher than usual vantage point ? You seem to be more on top of the car. At just 6 ft, I don't seem to get over it quite the same. Â Respect. Â Rolo
bill Posted February 1, 2007 Share #12 Â Posted February 1, 2007 What makes this shot for me is that the buildings reflected are not ultra-modern. This has a superb timeless quality. I'm not being funny when I say that it looks like the sort of shot I would approach the company with and offer them. Â Regards, Â Bill
farnz Posted February 2, 2007 Author Share #13 Â Posted February 2, 2007 To Everyone: thank you for the encouraging comments - they really do help! Â Allan: I have some more, which I shall post. Â Rolo: I leaned over the car as far as I could without touching it and ... "ker-chick". I'm short for my height, around 5'6", and don't carry a step ladder, although it would come in useful in large crowds. Â Bill: This B was shot in the wild rather than tethered in a showroom - hence the Georgian mansions of Begravia in the reflection. I shall take your suggestion and approach the company to see if there's any interest. Â Thanks to all again, Pete.
