Carl E Posted May 6, 2011 Share #41 Posted May 6, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just received my M4/Summaron combo back from Fotomechanik Reinhardt and can I just say that I never thought that a CLA by an expert could bring such tangible improvements. The camera is like new, and the handling is clearly much smoother than that of an M4-P I once had. So, now I am going out to shoot film all weekend Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Hi Carl E, Take a look here I love my M4. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pontus Posted May 23, 2011 Share #42 Posted May 23, 2011 My M4 got a new friend the other day... I borrowed one of these a couple of months back. I hadn't used anything wider than 28 (or 18 on aps-c dslr) so I wanted to try it before I bought one myself. I really liked it and finally got one! This is going to be fun...

ZoomP Posted June 24, 2011 Share #44 Posted June 24, 2011 My last remaining film Ms. Shinatro crickled blackpaint (aka black hammertone) M3 and Blackpaint M4. Nicely brassed over the years.
pontus Posted September 2, 2011 Share #45 Posted September 2, 2011 Mmm... That brassed paint is so gorgeous! Right now my M4 is away from home for some professional love (aka CLA), looking forward to an even greater experience when it comes back.
jippiejee Posted September 2, 2011 Share #46 Posted September 2, 2011 My new lovely black chrome M4-P (CLA by Will van Maanen) with the 28mm asph elmarit... smooth like velvet in my hands. pontus Posted October 1, 2011 Share #47 Posted October 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Finally got my M4 back yesterday - smoother than ever! It's a bright sunny day so I might get out for some pictures... (Sorry for the phone-ish quality, it's at iso 800 and I cropped from vertical to horizontal...)
Fotobug Posted November 22, 2011 Share #48 Posted November 22, 2011 Do you know if anyone sells the original data insert strips? Or, do you use clear acetate and cut it down to size? I'm trying to figure out how these can operate in today's world. Thx ps: your M4 looks great!
aquinolourdes46 Posted December 1, 2011 Share #49 Posted December 1, 2011 My entire Leica gear - and I love it! So, wicked cool!
jaques Posted December 1, 2011 Share #50 Posted December 1, 2011 M4 has to have one of the nicest of all the Leica M finders- love that uncluttered space- next best thing to the M3- but even better with 35mm lines. Here is my black paint camera- paint is not original apparently- but looks as good as any Leica factory work: Welcome, dear visitor! lincoln_m Posted December 7, 2011 Share #51 Posted December 7, 2011 Jaques, That is one beautiful camera. Is it an M4-P? It is missing the Big Red Dot on the side and has the Classic scripting on the top. The 35mm 'cron is also a beauty. It all looks brand new! Only thing missing on an M4 is a light meter, but for B&W one can almost get away without one. Great photo too, Lincoln
Keith (M) Posted December 8, 2011 Share #52 Posted December 8, 2011 Jaques, That is one beautiful camera... Sure is a superb looking specimen - and there was me thinking that my chrome version was the bee's knees (for non-native English speakers this translates as the best thing since sliced bread). pontus Posted December 31, 2011 Share #54 Posted December 31, 2011 ..and I love my Hipstamatic.... How do you paste the picture properly? Nice! Your post should work, the picture URL inside IMG-tags. My guess is that imageshack is preventing it in some way?

joseph_galilee Posted March 12, 2012 Share #56 Posted March 12, 2012 Hallo, my new Black Paint M4 as well as Jim Marshall configuration's. Recently I get a CLA to Leitz Service of Genoa, SAM.CA, Italy. Nice peoples and great experience. The advance lever movement is smooth like butter. **Sorry for the poor quality picture but the HTC phone it's only phone & an garbage camera. Cheerio. Welcome, dear visitor! Guest Ornello Posted March 12, 2012 Share #57 Posted March 12, 2012 That is a very nice looking M4 indeed! I am currently saving for one....so though I can't claim to love a M4 yet, someday I hope I will have one that I love to use. The only modification I will do to my yet-to-be found and purchased M4, involves switching the M4 advance, preview and self-timer levers to the all-metal M2/3 style levers. Here's an example of what I am saying... Leica M4 + 35mm Summicron by Huub L, on Flickr I thought they had a plastic tip on the advance lever. Was that changed during production?
pontus Posted March 13, 2012 Share #58 Posted March 13, 2012 Hallo,my new Black Paint M4 as well as Jim Marshall configuration's. Gorgeous! Now you just need to use it until it gets that brassed...
pontus Posted March 13, 2012 Share #59 Posted March 13, 2012 I thought they had a plastic tip on the advance lever. Was that changed during production? I'm pretty sure that it was done later, I don't think any M4s were produced with the all-metal levers.
joseph_galilee Posted March 13, 2012 Share #60 Posted March 13, 2012 Gorgeous! Now you just need to use it until it gets that brassed... Thank you, in fact, I really like it. It will take quite a while because it becomes like that of Jim Marshal, partly because the lacquer of the M4 is thicker and robust than the light coating of new MP.
