Stuart this was a tough shot. Eventually I decided, I liked the L1's auto-exposure for this shot, the most as it exposed/presented the clouds/sky as such.

The exposure was about 0.6 seconds handheld, thank goodness for the L1's OIS

William, this photo was/is untouched,..... sorry to disappoint you, but it was a magic moment

that only lasted about 3 mins. There was a rapid low cloud at the time

Sorry, I wasn't suggesting that you faked it, only that the cloud seemed so light. If that's the way you remember it, fine. If not, maybe it might benefit from a little work?

Fantastic moment, almost eerie!

Congratulations.

Let me just correct a small detail: it is not the Opera Square, but the Place Vendôme, and he picture seems to have been shoot from the jeweller "Boucheron", just in your back, with the Hotel Ritz on your right, and it is said that the building just behind the column belongs to the Sultan of Brunei...

Just for the info...

Cheers

Gérard

Gerard,.... merci.

This was my 1st time to Paris, and so i have got mixed up many times with the locations.

Here is another shot that I took a few minutes later in this same Place Vendome

This shot is quite an achievement handheld thanks to new technology. Did you try burning in the over bright Napolean?
