Advertisement Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Hi dugby, Take a look here My daughter said "quick..shoot Napoleon". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted January 18, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2007 dugby - Fascinating, and made more so by the artifacts in the sky. Perhaps the column and Napoleon are a bit too bright.
Rona!d Posted January 18, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 18, 2007 cool, this is the right stuff for the shadow-thread !
dugby Posted January 18, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted January 18, 2007 Stuart this was a tough shot. Eventually I decided, I liked the L1's auto-exposure for this shot, the most as it exposed/presented the clouds/sky as such. The exposure was about 0.6 seconds handheld, thank goodness for the L1's OIS
samwells Posted January 18, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 18, 2007 Luminous and ethereal! Almost as if the column is internally lit. Thanx for showing. cheers: Sam
lambroving Posted January 18, 2007 Share #6 Posted January 18, 2007 Nice catch! Was the cloud really that light? I wasn't there. A little PS maybe?
dugby Posted January 18, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted January 18, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) William, this photo was/is untouched,..... sorry to disappoint you, but it was a magic moment that only lasted about 3 mins. There was a rapid low cloud at the time
M'Ate Posted January 18, 2007 Share #8 Posted January 18, 2007 Dugby, have you seen this pic without the strong orange cast ? ..... 'triffic M'Ate. Buildings look really good, sky au naturel. :-) Regards,
lambroving Posted January 19, 2007 Share #9 Posted January 19, 2007 William, this photo was/is untouched,..... sorry to disappoint you, but it was a magic momentthat only lasted about 3 mins. There was a rapid low cloud at the time Sorry, I wasn't suggesting that you faked it, only that the cloud seemed so light. If that's the way you remember it, fine. If not, maybe it might benefit from a little work?
gdb Posted January 19, 2007 Share #10 Posted January 19, 2007 Fantastic moment, almost eerie! Congratulations. Let me just correct a small detail: it is not the Opera Square, but the Place Vendôme, and he picture seems to have been shoot from the jeweller "Boucheron", just in your back, with the Hotel Ritz on your right, and it is said that the building just behind the column belongs to the Sultan of Brunei... Just for the info... Cheers Gérard
dugby Posted January 19, 2007 Author Share #11 Posted January 19, 2007 Gerard,.... merci. This was my 1st time to Paris, and so i have got mixed up many times with the locations. Here is another shot that I took a few minutes later in this same Place Vendome http://www.leica-camera-user.com/digital-forum/13780-ois-d3-l1-superb.html Also taken with the L1. Regards PS..... here's shot from that Jewellery shot

wda Posted January 19, 2007 Share #13 Posted January 19, 2007 Stuart this was a tough shot. Eventually I decided, I liked the L1's auto-exposure for this shot, the most as it exposed/presented the clouds/sky as such. The exposure was about 0.6 seconds handheld, thank goodness for the L1's OIS This shot is quite an achievement handheld thanks to new technology. Did you try burning in the over bright Napolean?
