tuanvo1982 Posted April 12, 2011 Share #81 Posted April 12, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) How about meeting at Divall's Cafe for 10.30 for a cuppa and a leisurely stroll down to the Pier and meeting venue? Divall's is across the road to the right of the front entrance to Brighton Station. (I don't know the venue personally but it's convenient.) Pete. farnz Posted April 12, 2011 Share #83 Posted April 12, 2011 though around 11.00-11.30 would be better for me Fine by me, David. It's roughly a 15 to 20 minute stroll to the Pier from there so let's make it 11.00 unless there's any objections? Pete.
tuanvo1982 Posted April 12, 2011 Share #84 Posted April 12, 2011 I just realise that my train will arrive at Brighton at 11.30 and change at Claphom Junction at 10.25 so I couldn't meet up at 10 or 11. Sorry about that.
andybarton Posted April 12, 2011 Share #85 Posted April 12, 2011 I will be there for 12 Will need to see what to play on the iPod in the car on the way down that will last the whole journey... A substantial part of the Radiohead oeuvre might just do it... In a fast German car, I'm amazed that I survived, an airbag saved my life. Maybe not. Gracie Fields it is. masjah Posted April 13, 2011 Share #98 Posted April 13, 2011 There isn't a finer opera than Figaro IMHO. That's a perfectly good point of view (though personally I have a few others which I would marginally prefer). I guess it's all down to the difficulty of defining "finer", before then imposing that definition on the operatic canon, and seeing what you come up with!. Purely personally I like the Magic Flute, Boris, and the the Trojans. Look forward to arguing the toss on Saturday!
