Whilst in Venice, a decision was made with regards to next year's destination.

However, following some robust discussion this week, it has been decided to open up the choices for wider debate and the traditional poll is therefore reinstated.

So, please cast your vote for next year's venue, which will, for the first time, be managed by Pete Farnsworth. Good luck Pete :)

Thanks, Andy, I'll do my best to make it an interesting, fulfilling and enjoyable Challenge for all although Carl will be a very hard act to follow.:o

Thanks, Jono, it was nice to meet you and Emma too, and your Burano photos were molto impressionante on your iPad.

Pete.

Well done Pete, for taking on this part of the Challenge! I"m sure you will keep up the high standard set by your predecessors.

Pete - Strength to your arm! Great that you have stepped up to the plate here to organise next year's event.

I've missed the last three -- Krakow, Malta, and Venice -- but made it to the first four -- London, Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin. I hope to make it to the next one, wherever it is. I have been following news of the Venice meeting with great interest and envy.

All the best, John

With Palermo clearly in the lead, I would expect very similar light conditions to Malta.

In the light of this expected illumination - can I suggest to have the next challenge either in the morning or in the late afternoon? There should be also more people in the streets then.

I have only just returned to the 'real' world (see explanation in challenge submission thread) and wish to thank Andy and Carl for their super efforts running the Venice Challenge. It was fantastic to meet old friends and particularly discover new faces that appeared.

Re voting for 2011 challenge venue. It is way too early for me to consider entering that year so I am considering abstaining from voting. I have enjoyed Prague and Barcelona in the past and would return to either in a heartbeat, but am sure I would enjoy Palermo just as much, if I can attend. Whatever, I see the only possible outcome as a fantastic event, so I would be happy with any of the three choices should I be able to attend. I think it only fair that I probably abstain from voting and trust the choice of others.

Imo Prague is always beautiful, but in October there is more light in the south.

Wouldn't it be interesting for the ones still sitting on the fence but seriously planning to attend, what Pete thinks about it, since he'll have all the work?

So a glass of vino rosso or a Budwar tomorrow to lunch?

;)

Perhaps they were going to vote for Prague, but someone in Sicily made them an offer they couldn't refuse <grin>

:D

and next year it's going to be: 'nice camera, sir. so many things can happen to it, you know? i can offer protection, and i think you need it.'
