Maybe - like in the case of the "Nullserie" replicas, when Leica followed Alberico Arces' idea - we'll be able one day to buy a real Leica product : any kind of "III-like" body covering a "V-Lux 20"-like camera... luigi bertolotti Posted September 12, 2010 Share #4 Posted September 12, 2010 ... just to joke, an item maybe not too difficult to engineer could be the interior/electronics (+LCD) of a X1, "dressing" it with a LTM body... ... without rangefinder (Leica Standard / Ic / If...) it would be rather nice... WITH rangefinder COUPLED and a std. thread mount would be a little masterpiece which many of us, I suppose, would buy...
Bo_Lorentzen Posted September 12, 2010 Share #5 Posted September 12, 2010 luigi, I would buy that. Though this "replica" sony camera, in some ways is more endearing to me than replicas claiming to be real, somehow putting a fake box on a sony is quite a tribute to the real M cameras. . Full marks for ingenuity and it's a camera I'd like to have in my collection. Cheers dunk Dunk It's Japanese - it certainly ought to give Leica ideas of what could be done (I've been asking for something like that for ages !!) wouldn't it be great if they did put the X1 interior into a 111 series replica - better still, as Luigi says, the X1 interior and sensor, adapted to use the Elmar and LTM lenses....
