Unfortunately there's a problem with that cap/hood combination on the ASPH lens. For storage the hood is intended to be reversed over a lens and the cap fits over the attachment lugs of the reversed hood. On the ASPH lens both the aperture adjustment ring and/or focus tab prevents you from reversing the hood. This applies to both the 12504 two part hood and the 12585 single part hood. The 12585 gives better flare protection than the 12504 hood. Both hoods when reversed take the 14033 cap but can't be reversed on the 35 ASPH Summicron. It may be possible to find another manufactures 52 - 53mm lens cap that will fit into the front of the 12585 or 58mm cap for the 12504. The best flare protection for the ASPH lens is given by the 12526 rectangular hood with 14043 cap, the cap however doesn't have a particularly firm method of fixing. Bob. Hi The 15626, can be used on the pre asph lux as well. I've not noticed any vignetting on film Ms If you want to see through the hood you will need to notch it, as. You must have smaller fingers than me . I can't get my fingers inside the unreversed hood to release the cap ...... unless I have a filter on the lens which moves the cap forward enough to get a purchase. Bob. It may be the cap used has the release mechanisms on the front face, if you ping one side off with the lens facing down the cap will drop into open palm. Yes there is no stop pin preventing the hood to rotate contrary to the good (imo) 12526. Same for the 12504.
