New 35mm summilux vs. 35mm summicron

Hi

3D has always has some following from in Victorian times prints and simple viewer, Pola or red green glasses at movies, in 50's, through to Nimslo in late '70s, FSU in 90s, to Shrike III today,, but never caught on commercially in the past, even if the effects were vivid.

Color made it commercially (buried mono), 3D did not.

Summarit range

Includes comparisons to the Summicrons...see overall verdict, where he rates 35 Summarit higher overall. Of course, this is just one opinion, but consistent with some other forum members' experiences.

(I hope there's not a limit to how many times I post this same link...and I don't even own one of the nice little buggers.:))

Another opinion

I prefer to buy used Leica lenses, which are better made than these new discount lenses. On the other hand, the optics of these new Summarit-M lenses are superb; it's just the price and mechanics which are inferior to used Leica lenses.

I read the link to understand the detail on his assessment and...oh, there isn't any. Your quote is virtually his entire review from 3 years ago. He only says the focal lengths are "boring" (35, 50, 75 and 90). Should I donate to his site for this bit of wisdom? Gotta love Ken.

Hi

All you have to do is borrow one from friendly dealer for an hour or so, the dealer will know it is an investment. Try a CV f2.5 as well.

Noel

All good ol' dealers are gone, because the online shopping/prices. There's only a few left and those ain't borrow anything to anybody, at least I know  So I have to believe what I've seen on the internet.
