On the last two in the first post, haloing is occurring.. too much clarity slider in lightroom?

You may want to check out a tutorial on step sharpening, might give you better results and works as a photoshop action many times (some require intervention).

Looking forward to seeing more!

Resized the images according to forum rules...

The little X1 is capable of producing nice looking images. Most of these shots are truly just snapshots. The odd thing about the X1 is that it really is what I deem a 'stationary subject' camera. You get what I mean by this; however, for me the X1 remains somewhat of an oddity. I hardly ever take landscape and architectural photos. 99% of the time, I take photos professionally of people, moving, in dynamically light-shifting environs.

In any event, the X1 is unique and I've found it to be quite an extraordinary tool. Dare I say it reminds me of my favorite 'pocket' camera, the prime lens Minilux???

Dannis,

Your shots to my eyes are exemplery of having the "leica look" if there's such a thing...that portrait is simply superb. Can I know which software you used?

Please do seriously think about the X1 challenge, I think you make the little thing fly!

Some fantastic new pics coming in guys!

Some of a recent, very foggy trip to Venice

Late night gondola repair

Water taxi at night.

Seeing this appear from the fog on the lagoon was very impressive, almost like a ghost ship

@Phancj & DwF: Thanks!

I just started using LR3 as it was bundled with the X1. Don`t have much experience with PP, but I`m slowly picking up stuff along the way. Sometimes [more often than not for me] photography happens by accident and/or luck and with processing software I feel I can create a certain feeling and atmosphere in the picture I couldn`t before. Of course I aspire, as the rest of you, to get it right from the start. But now I`m beginning to experience that software can take you places you`ve never been on a emotional level.
