Help with itemnumber

Hello,

 

What is the itemnumber for the latest Elmarit-M 2.8/90?

What year did the production start and what year did it end?

It was launched in 1990 and canned when the Summarits were launched a couple of years back.

 

Item numbers are: black 11807, chrome 11808 and titanium 11899.

 

It is a staggeringly good lens and the best of my 90s.

I was looking at Photografica´s website (a Leica dealer in Copenhagen) and noticed they got them, both black and chrome in "new" condition.

It is worth it tio check a number of dealers. there are plenty good examples out there and there is a large variation in price.

Where I live, in the south of Sweden, there are two Leica dealers, Mattssons Foto in Lund and YFO in Malmo, but they don´t have that much Leica items in the shops, it´s mainly pre-order from them.

Photografica in Copenhagen have more Leica stuff in the shop and it takes only two hours by train from where I live.

Yes - but there are a number of shops on the Internet - Meister, red Dot, ffordes, Polyphoto, to name a few, where one can buy with confidence. I happened to buy one with Meister - I thought it was excellent and at a rock-bottom price, but when I sent it to Solms for coding they found something wrong with it. No problem - Meister sorted it.

http://www.leicashop.com/ in Vienna is also a dependable and honest web dealer. I have done quite abit of business with them, and one or two problems (not of their making!) were sorted out promptly and free of charge.

I also strongly recommend Meister Camera in Hamburg. They give excellent service - and at the moment they seem to have a 90/2.8 in condition B at 699 €. With Meisters' normally conservative assessment, condition B might by other dealers be called mint.
