Knowing that these are just shots of a scotch bottle etc etc. IMHO, the Nokton 1.1 really looks interesting!

Really wanted to see the zeiss sonnar in one of these, although i believe there may be variants of the design in the jupiter lenses (?)

new to RF and saving up for the summilux. :(

Thanks for posting that. Nice test for sharpness and bokeh, but also nice to see the relative sizes of each of these lenses so that people can make a really informed decision about what "look" they can expect from a lighter or heavier lens.

The 0.95 Noctilux really does look amazing. As does the 50 lux, and all of the 'crons.

I have a 1953 Jupiter 3 that does pretty well compared to the J3 samples posted here, and that is good to know because there does seem to be some sample variation in that lens. But at the end of the day, I really happy with it regardless of any comparisons I might look at. In fact, maybe I should stop looking at these comparisons

...the nokton 1.1 looked interesting, sharp at 1.1.

I noticed that too, but what are the shutter times

I believe I read somewhere the nokton is not a 1.1 when you take a picture. So a good test would be with the same ISO and time.

Not being a tech afficionado, these are the types of practical tests I favor. Graphs mean very little to me, and I don't have the patience for them - I am marginally ADD. Getting all these lenses together in one place must have been a bit of a challenge so I tip my hat to those responsible.

After viewing the Scotch bottle through this list of endless 50mm lenses, I am glad I chose the 50m Summilux ASPH as my one and only 50mm lens. It replaced my trusted 50mm Hexanon, which in turn had replaced my 50mm Summicron.

The thread does a great job of showing the many 50mm options available, and a lot of these present an excellent value. If one is after a particular "brush" this test is also very helpful. I would love to see the same test done in portraiture.

Haven't even heard of some of those lenses. Topcor? Tanar?

Good old Summicron still a redoubtable performer. The fellow by the bar is visible in some shots, not others, he probably moved. Focus on text not always accurate, but surely this should have been the point of focus, not sure why it varies.
