erl Posted June 30, 2010 Share #2 Posted June 30, 2010 It's an incurable disease, treated in the short term by alcohol, but in the long term both are addictive. Enjoy them both. There is no guarantee either are available in the 'after life', if there is one. Go for the here and now.

bocaburger Posted July 1, 2010 Share #11 Posted July 1, 2010 Best protector I've found, period: DIY Skins This stuff is amazingly strong (you can scrape your car keys over it like mad and it won't leave a mark) and it doesn't peel at the corners. I've never had to replace one, including on my touch-screen cellphone. It's also very clear, in fact it actually gets clearer with time. Best thing about it comes in sheets so you can use it for custom applications (like the bottom plate or top plate if you want to keep that "pristine" look for resale ). It's so cheap I just cut a piece about 1/4"/1cm bigger all around, don't worry about precise alignment, and then just trim around the LCD with a scalpel (use something like a 15 blade which has a curved end, not one with a sharp point!) wilfredo Posted July 1, 2010 Share #13 Posted July 1, 2010 Welcome to the club. After the introduction of the M9 some believed the M8 was dead, but not so, it is a Leica after all. Even in the digital world, Leica's live on. BTW, where did you get that level gadget on the flash shoe? That would be perfect for doing fine art reproductions which I sometime do. The M8 is an exceptional tool in that regard.

norm_snyder Posted July 2, 2010 Share #15 Posted July 2, 2010 Welcome-- Now that the M9 is established, the M8 has become more accessible, in turn allowing a good may new people to become involved with these cameras. Great for the site, and for the continued use of these great lenses. New people, work, creativity....Looking forward to seeing some photos.

I found his add on Marktplaats: Marktplaats.nl > Universele flitschoen beschermer + waterpas - Audio, Tv en Foto - Fotografie | Flitsers Mail him and send 7 euro and he post it in a envelope. Because it's more accessible now, I'll try it as a step to digital fullframe (M9 or M10 ). I can't rent it in the Netherlands to try, so now it's good step in between by buying a M8.
