I was working abroad over the Holidays, and on January 1st I was in London. Sorry for the delay in posting to this thread, but I just got home yesterday, and processed a few rolls last night. Here's one of the first shots I took on New Year's Day. I must have been a tad hung over, because I didn't notice the license plate until I just scanned it a few minutes ago!

I had to work on that Day, however going home that night I took this shot of North Melbourne Station at 21.58. 01-01-07.

Using the R7 + 50 mm and Kodak Elitechrome 100 set at F8 at 4 seconds.

I leaned the camera on the barrier.

This Station is going to be re-built shortly with a new roof.

Ken.

This has been a great thread, folks.

Thanks very much for taking the trouble to make it worthwhile.

We'll have to do it again in the summer (up here), so that we can see what Australia is like in the winter ;)

I hesitate to say it, but July 4th (or a weekend thereabouts) anyone?

Is it Surbiton or Sicily?

Bump - anyone fancy another round this year?

Same rules as before

Shots must have been taken on January 1st 2008 and the rest of the rules from last year are here:

As with everything in life, there should be some rules, and, in order to save the planet and have some fun at the same time, the suggestion was that the photographs should be taken without the use of a mechanical means of transport. So, preferably, the shots should be taken wherever you happen to be or can get to without using a car, or other fuelled transport. If you can walk 30 miles from your place to get the shot, or cycle 100 miles, that's fine.

The shot must have been taken on the day, otherwise it would just be an open thread.

The shots can be of anything you like, using any Leica camera/lens you like and any film or digital medium you like.

No prize, no entry fee, just a long thread with lots of pictures (if people contribute)

Post as many as you like.

This really is just a bit of fun to start the New Year off and no big deal. I know that many have already said that they are interested, so I think this could be a great opportunity to see what people get up to on one particular day. We could have all the seasons in one day, the aftermath of “the night before”, pictures from the top of mountains, at work, in your garden, absolutely anything. Who knows?

Guess that disqualifies me. Bit different from last year, looking back at the start of the thread, I was firing on all ..... geez, can't even count.

Jaap, I love those horses. Really pretty animals. My daughter would flip over them!

Curious to see that the Dutch windmills have slimmed down since I was there.;)
