ASpes Posted June 16, 2010 Share #22  Posted June 16, 2010 Works very well. Here my data:... D3 (following the procedure outlined above for the L1)  ver 1.00:0112 ...  Philipp,  if that's not a typo, my suggestion is to upgrade your D/3 firmware to v.2, lots of interesting things in it, really.  http://uk.leica-camera.com/assets/file/download.php?filename=file_4025.pdf  Best. Simonizer Posted June 16, 2010 Share #24  Posted June 16, 2010 I have tried it without a attached lens, and it works too. Note: after turn on the camera (point 5) you will see the regular menu, but anyway you are now in the temporary service menu! Proceed the procedure with point 6 and you will see now the error-code-memory-screen. Now pepeat point 6 and voila, you are at the info screen. Regards Peter  Got it! Odd, was not working before.... but I am all thumbs!  VER 1. 11:0111  NO: F990609130005 PWRCNT: 1071 SHTCNT: 13156 STBCNT:
carl3 Posted July 22, 2011 Share #25 Â Posted July 22, 2011 Thanks for the tip. I bought a D2 about a year ago, and have used it sparingly as one of three cameras I have. Serial number is 3016xxx, which Leica tells me is the newer sensor. Leica has no record of this unit ever being in for service. I also picked up a Panasonic leather case for the LC1, which I use as a half case. Â The camera is in very good condition with a couple of rub marks on it (not scratches). The sides do not have the common rubbing in lug area. Has box and all the accessories. Â I followed the instructions and found: Â Version 1.0B 001D power on 808 shutter 1292 flash 375 Â Looks like it had very little use. Almost like getting a new one. rebride Posted July 30, 2011 Share #27 Â Posted July 30, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Many thanks for this procedure. It gave me the result (sensor replaced 2009): Â Serial number: 2987452 VER 1.09:001C No S01 04 01 15 0224 PWRCNT 1,328 SHTCNT 4,350 STBCNT 456 Â Reported version (1.09) is different from what I saw in your case, guys. Â Also, it is obvious from the shuter counter that I left my D2 on the shelf for a while after M8 entered my life. Â Anyway, it is a GREAT camera, even seven years after it was launched. Â Best, D. Setanta Posted November 11, 2011 Share #28 Â Posted November 11, 2011 My first post, Just found this link today, Thank you Peter it is very useful as I bought my Digilux 2 2nd hand on Ebay and was told the sensor had been replaced and that there were about 4,000 shutter actuations. My info reads: Ver: 1.0A:001D Pwrcnt: 2523 Shtrcnt: 4140 Stbcnt: 1575. Serial number: 29918631. Seems the seller was telling the truth about the shutter count but not sure about the sensor now as the Version would say not. Is Leica still covering the sensor replacement. ho_co Posted November 11, 2011 Share #30 Â Posted November 11, 2011 Tom-- If I'm not mistaken, the version is the firmware version, which wouldn't necessarily change when the sensor is replaced. Â As Andy said, if the sensor needs replacement down the road, Leica still does it at no charge. Â Congratulations on a nice camera, and welcome to the forum! cbretteville Posted November 11, 2011 Share #31 Â Posted November 11, 2011 Excellent info, thanks. Mine comes back as just shy of 10K exposures. Defiantly not reset during sensor upgrade as I've shot less than 500 since it came back in May 2008. I was surprised to see that I had used the flash for more than 2000 of the shots. Setanta Posted November 11, 2011 Share #32 Â Posted November 11, 2011 Thanks Andy, I was not sure if the warranty was still being carried out, also thank you Howard, I was assuming if the sensor was replaced by Leica then the firmware would be upgraded as well. I will contact the Leica dealer in Melbourne to see if they have a record of the sensor being replaced. Thanks again for your replies. Tom
SJP Posted November 12, 2011 Share #33 Â Posted November 12, 2011 Are there similar secret menus on other digital Leicas? M8 & M9 I have never seen/heard any rumors - surely they also have a service level menu?

Ernstk Posted November 5, 2012 Share #38 Â Posted November 5, 2012 My Digilux 2 has just returned from Solms with a new sensor. Â I've checked the firmware and it's still on 1.0A. Â Does anyone know what the functional differences are with the later firmware levels and can mine be upgraded? Â Thanks Ernst
KhakiMan Posted November 7, 2012 Share #39 Â Posted November 7, 2012 Wow! My D2 just arrived via EBay purchase, and even though the camera is spotless, I didn't expect to see such a low shutter count. Â Â Ver 1.0B:001D No: S010403230038 Pwrcnt: 222 Shtcnt: 574 Stbcnt: 107 Â The SD card in the camera had about 90 images that were clearly test shots from the seller. By the looks of it, she didn't know how to use the camera. I've added another 50 just getting to know the camera. So, there were slightly over 400 shots taken by the original owner. Â I might be jinxing myself, but this is basically a new camera. But, by judging the serial number, I'll likely have to send the camera in for a sensor fix sometime in the future. Â Is there anyway to tell if it has already been replaced? Â Regardless, I'm very excited with my D2 purchase. Â Christian
