Lens and camera are from 1957, my year of birth. It received an extensive CLA from Van Maanen, new cartons etc. The lens was completely disassembled and cleaned and adjusted. It will never be sold and it will be for my daughter when I am not be there anymore. Welcome, dear visitor! Maybe in a month or so, I'm about to buy a new car and watching buying things I don't really need (I have 1 already) until I get that sorted out. I bought this camera about one year ago (from Classic Store Vienna), really enjoying it! Probably a DS (elephant ears) converted to SS. hydet Posted November 8 Share #949 Posted November 8 This combo has been a long time coming for me: 1962 Dual-Range Summicron repaint from Kanto in Japan, and a 1959 M3 repaint from Patagonean in Chile. DreiPunkte Posted Thursday at 05:27 PM Share #956 Posted Thursday at 05:27 PM 2 x 3 is so much more than M6 and DS don't stand for double Stroke! DS means germ. sandro Posted 12 hours ago Share #958 Posted 12 hours ago Midland made Leitz camera's many years before the middle of the 1970's, as the previous message says as well. Perhaps that date comes from the decision to continue with Leica M camera's and the production of the M4, resulting in the M4-2 which was designed and produced in Midland, with a small number made in Wetzlar.
