Not much words to say but I felt I got to say this. Here is my petition to request Leica please give me a true Chrome M9 camera with vulcanite covering. I did not get a M9 just because there is no chrome body available. Its a pity because I get chrome lenses whichever possible and so does camera. Yeah, steel grey is nice but no, its grey not chrome! It just does not match my chrome lenses. Leica, please listen to us (I am sure I am not the only one here), and give us a true chrome plated M9 !

Thank you !

Cheers:)

I would consider one in chrome, but only:

if it comes fully naked, without top plate engraving,

without M9 logo and

without red dot, but a service screw for the RF setting instead.

I would prefer it in black paint as is, but chrome sounds good as well.

This naked look thing really would make me jump after one. Leica offers this for list price and they have me broke for sure.

There are two issues.

Chrome plating byproducts are hazardous and difficults to dispose. Realize you have to nickle, copper, then chrome to do it right, Almost nothing is chrome today except chrome or fake chrome over plastic used for car interiors which really poor design appearance I might add. Same class as bird droppings for that application.

The other is cost measure. A paint operation has to be 1/10 the cost.

Neither excuse is acceptable as far as a $7000 camera goes. I would rather see a QUALITY molded plastic with the color all the way through. There are plastics that meet the strength criteria.

The top plate of the S2 is made of plastic or magnesium alloy?
