NigelG Posted September 25, 2022 Share #18504  Posted September 25, 2022 (edited) Definitely Chevy rear quarters venting and I was guessing 1963. That’s definitely non standard paint thought the white stripe would be. (Close to a previous posting….) Edited September 25, 2022 by NigelG
Rona!d Posted September 25, 2022 Share #18505 Â Posted September 25, 2022 Looks like a Corvair 95 (must be around 1961 or so). I recall one I saw near Seattle with a side loading ramp.
Rona!d Posted September 25, 2022 Share #18506  Posted September 25, 2022 As the name Corvair indicates it´s one of the rare aircooled rear engined flat six pickups or vans. I think it must have been inspired by the worldwide success of the aircooled VW bus. (I´m not sure about the rear lights, at the car I saw they were 2-part and one part was in the rear doors. Maybe optional or different model year).
adan Posted September 25, 2022 Share #18507  Posted September 25, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Indeed - A Chevrolet Corvair 95 pickup truck. 1961-64. Probably a "rampside" - as most of them were, to take advantage of the split-level cargo bay. Ronald's turn. A couple more detail shots. Welcome, dear visitor! The "95 " refers to the wheelbase, actually a bit shorter than the regular Corvair passenger cars, and giving a "cab-over" effect. It was displayed outside a Denver marijuana shop earlier this month, promoting some kind of smoking/vaping/pot accessories. I'm afraid I got so excited by the "find" that I forgot to get an overall view 😳 but here's a link to the type: https://chapters.corvair.org/corvanatics/rampside.php  2
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Rona!d Posted September 26, 2022 Share #18508  Posted September 26, 2022 Adan, thanks for the interesting link to the clubs webpage. The club "Corvanatics" seems to exist since more than 50 years which is great as the car is not MUCH older and a commercial duty vehicle. So here the next one (maker, model, year as close as possible please):  Welcome, dear visitor! Here the engine compartment instead of a full shot. I only shot details on this car. It´s a 1934 limousine. Everybody can google how it looks. I thought it might fit well to the rear engined Corvair truck. Maybe of interest: The airdrag coefficient was 0,516 (similar 0,515 for a 1963 230SL Pagoda with hardtop and 0,498 for a period 1960s VW Beetle). Pretty good for 1934 although the Rumpler Tropfenwagen was much better with just 0,28 in 1921. Your turn! Welcome, dear visitor! You better had named the vehicle 😉
