christoph_d Posted September 22, 2014 Share #6824 Posted September 22, 2014 Correct. I don't actually have an overall view, but enough is on the picture for identification: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=458640&stc=1&d=1411413938 Photographed on May 3rd in Bergamo, surrounded by many very nice other vehicles from bygone days of motoring. In my view the old Multipla is just as beautiful as the new one Over to you! Welcome, dear visitor! wlaidlaw Posted September 24, 2014 Share #6833 Posted September 24, 2014 '57 Ferarri 250 GT speciale built for Prince Bertil of Sweden - I think. Stuart, They are usually called a 250PF (I assume for Pininfarina) but you are totally correct. Ferrari anoraks think that the 250GT series only started with the Tour de France model but I think that is a modern convention. Bertil was of the royal rat pack of 1950’s Europe (Bertil, Bernhard of the Netherlands and Philip of the UK) - all bad boys in their time! It is nice that the new owners have kept in the rather “sudden” Swedish blue coachwork with yellow leather interior. Taken on the Colorado Grand Rally during a lunch stop at Salida, Co. stuny Posted September 24, 2014 Share #6834 Posted September 24, 2014 Thank you. I too assume PF for Pininfarina -- the design is clearly PF even without the F badge ahead of the door. The curved rear quarter windows are quite distinctive, even if the body is very 250GT-ish. Here's one which I suspect our experts, Wilson and Rona|d will get: Welcome, dear visitor! wlaidlaw Posted September 25, 2014 Share #6838 Posted September 25, 2014 Very odd with fuel filler cap out in the open. Nearly all the more expensive cars have them behind a flap now. Is this a show or a production car Stuart? Wilson
stuny Posted September 25, 2014 Share #6839 Posted September 25, 2014 It is a production car. I suspect the exposed filler cap is part of the image of the car. I also suspect the manufacturer expects the entire car to be stolen rather than just some fuel. Then again, the cap might have a lock on it or a remote latch inside the car.
